"Blake I have some news you have to get over here right now!" Zach is calling me at ten in the morning on a Saturday of course.

"Alright, alright I'll be over there in a sec." I quickly get dressed and ready. I pass my mom in the kitchen, "I'm going to Zach's."

"Alright sweetie." She smiles and I run out the door. I open up the garage and grab my bike. I make the short ride to Zach's house. He's sitting on the front porch steps waiting for me like always. He stands up when I pull into his driveway.

"It's good news right?" I ask him as I walk up the sidewalk.

He's already grinning from ear to ear so I know it is, "the touring manager called. He wants me to fly out to LA and meet up with a few other guys that have been blowing up on youtube like me!"

"Zach that's amazing!" We pull each other into a hug but my smile fades when I pull away. "But how long are you going to be gone?" Zach and I have never been apart since we were 9.

"I don't really know... But you can visit I mean it's not that far really." He suggests.

"It's almost a days drive, and you know my parents would never let me fly alone."

His face sinks but then he looks back up at me with a grin, "I have an idea."

"Zach, don't be dumb that'll never work." I already know what he's thinking.

"Why not? You come with me I mean we can do online school and you get to go to LA like you've always wanted!"

"My parents are never going to let me!" I remind him.

He waves it off, "they love me. I'll figure it out I mean we can scrape the money together."

"You're insane, but its worth a try."

He pumps his fists into the air, "yes! I'll talk to the manager hopefully we can accommodate you, if not you and I will do it ourselves."

"You're the best." We spend the rest of the day plotting on how to ask my parents. We work out every possible obstacle.

That night I invite Zach over for dinner so we can talk to my parents. We still have a month to figure it all out too. Zach grabs his bike and we ride back to my house. "We're home!" I call to my mom.

"Hey guys, I just put the lasagna in the oven it'll be ready in thirty."

I nod and we head down the hallway to my room. Zach crashes onto my bed and I lay down next to him, "this is never going to work." I mutter.

"Oh have faith, online school, and the managers hook us up with everything else. You have always wanted to go to LA and you probably won't get a chance like this until we graduate!"

"I know, I know. I mean aren't you sad to be leaving home?"

He shrugs, "of course I am, but this is the shot I've been waiting for. I can't miss it." He rolls over onto his stomach so he can look at me. "This is your shot too. Get your music out there."

"Zach I-" he interrupts me.

"I already know what you're going to say, you've been trying for years to no avail. Maybe it was just the wrong crowd."

"I still don't know." I sit up and rub the back of my neck. He takes my hand and looks at me.

"Blake, you have an amazing voice and you can play an instrument. You're there you just have to share it. Plus I'll always be you're number one fan!" He flashes a goofy grin at me.

I laugh and shove him in the arm, "you're ridiculous."

"Dinner guys!" My mom calls from the kitchen. We hop off my bed and walk to the dining room. We take our usual seats next to each other at the table. Zach and I will get together for meals all the time at each other's houses so my parents have no idea what we're planning.

We quickly eat and when we finish I throw a glance at Zach he nods and smiles at my mom. "I have some great news I wanted to tell you guys." He glances at my dad too.

"Sure Zach what is it?" My mom asks.

"A touring manager called and they want me to fly to LA. I'm going to preform for an actual group manager with some other guys."

"That's great bud!" My dad tells him.

"Yeah too bad you're leaving especially since school just started. Are you going to finish your classes?" My mom asks.

"I'll take online classes, and my manager is paying for the whole trip." Zach winks at me. We've set the trap now we have to see if we can convince them.

"Wow you've really thought this out." My mom comments and looks at me. "You want her to go with you don't you?"

Zach and I look at each other. "Yeah of course." I sigh.

"Blake why would you even go I mean what would be your gain?" My dad asks.

"Well I have a better chance at getting discovered if I go, and Zach and I haven't been apart for almost six years. I mean except that one time he went to summer camp, but he came home early cause he missed me." I laugh.

"That is not why I came home early and you know that! We'll discuss this later. But like I was saying my manager is paying for all of it I planned on calling him tonight to accommodate her."

My parents share a worried look and sigh, "we never were able to keep you two apart." My dad laughs.

"Let us know what he says and we'll think about it." My mom says. Zach and I fist bump under the table. "Make sure you get home before it gets too dark."

"We will!" Zach and I say in unison. We put our dishes in the sink and head back outside.

"Zach you are a genius!" I squeal. He picks me up in a hug and spins me around.

"Trust me, I know." He says as he puts me down.

"And hey if I can't go promise me one thing." My tone turns serious.

"Anything."

"Don't be a dumbass and trip on stage." We bust out laughing.

"You know I can't promise you that!" We say goodnight and I watch him ride back to his house. I might be going to LA. This is a dream come true.
