Butterfly Pavilion

"That's a little impossible, Noble Consort Li have been treated equally here along with the other consorts. The empress hates people fighting for power thus anyone who condones the act of bullying others are punished under her personal orders"

The emperor's statement made Jin confused. Half an hour earlier Jin have sat down and told the emperor about the mistreatment his sister was going through and he listened well with a frown etched upon his face the whole time. After the story telling the emperor took some time to process the ideas Jin informed and to Jin was actually surprised at how calm the emperor was thought he whole ordeal.

Was he somehow a part of it?

That would be a no, Jin thought as he recalled the days the emperor have been here. The emperor treats the noble consort well, except for the flirtations that Jin can't still seem to accept despite just sharing the most searing hot kiss he's ever had in his entire lifetime with the emperor .

Jin haven't seen any mistreatment even from the Empress herself except for the Empress Dowager that caused a ruckus an hour ago.

"But Xie Xie came to me crying, she won't cry for no reason" Jin argued watching the emperor nod his head.

"Did you ever come to the conclusion that you may have been fooled?" The emperor offered with an apologetic smile.

The nerve of this man!

Jin strongly believes that it is not within his sister's nature to lie. Not to him. Never to him. He had given his life to protect his sister, fooling him would be the last thing his sister would do.

Jin couldn't help but glared at the emperor, clenching his fists beside him. The emperor saw it, the way Jin's anger was building up . The emperor sighed deeply, getting off the bed and going to the table where Jin had left the brush pen and paper.

Jin's eyes followed the emperor's movements as he grabbed those things along with the ink and handed them to him all of a sudden.

"Why don't you ask her yourself?" The emperor suggested. "You'll lose nothing by doing so"

Jin contemplated whether to believe what the emperor was saying.

Can his sister really lie to him? Even if she did he would still forgive her, Jin knows Mai may have a reasonable explanation as to why she would do such thing.

Even if it's a stupid reason I'll still accept it as long as it came from her.

Jin accepted the pen and paper, nodding his head to the emperor.

"If you're wrong I'll cut your tongue" Jin threatened, pointing the tip of the brush pen to the emperor who couldn't help but smirk.

"If you do that you won't be able to share such intimate kiss with me again" the emperor stated smugly, sliding his tongue out to lick on his bottom lip.

"Shameless!" Jin snarled, cheeks tinting pink.

The emperor only laughed as a response, the sound echoing through the whole room. Jin doesn't want to admit it, but what may have hurt his ear now is something that doesn't bother him
The sound of the emperor's laughter brought a calmness to his nerves. He hadn't noticed that his hand was trembling the whole time. Jin may deny it but he had been considering the emperor's words.

What if he really had been fooled?

Out of nowhere, the emperor had reached out and ruffled Jin's hair playful. Strands of ink black hair messily covered his face and he groaned, slapping the emperor's hand away.
