𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲.

Alec sighed as he unlocked his phone and scrolled to his contact list.

He pressed Evelyn's contact.

beep.

beep.

beep.

"Hello?"

"Evelyn, is Kyran with you?"

"Yeah, he is, why?"

Kyran's voice called out.

"Put it on speaker! Is it Alec?"

Alec chuckled dejectedly.

"What's wrong?" Evelyn asked, concerned.

"Yeah, Alec I was gonna invite you to hang out with Me and Evelyn but you weren't home and I couldn't find my spare key. Everything alright man?"

Alec sucked in his breath.

"Aly died."

"What?"

"This is a sick joke."

"She ran into our metal front door and sustained a serious brain injury that killed her."

"How is that possible?" Evelyn asked.

Kyran was silent.

"Have you told Lucas?" He asked, his voice having little emotion.

"I can't. I just-" Alec realised that he was crying.

"We understand, we'll break the news to him..." Kyran said in a pained voice.

There was no time to grieve.

Alec out the phone down.

He pressed his head on the steering wheel, sobbing.

He didn't want to accept her death.

He didn't want to go to school without her.

He couldn't.

He really just...

Couldn't.

Aly was his light in the tunnel.

His reason for still being alive.

He slammed his forehead on the wheel.

There was no point.

No point for anything.

He grabbed his keys, and slammed them into the car.

He started the car, driving home.

It wasn't safe to drive.

He was crying so much.

He could die.

Oh well.

He sped up, the roads blurry.

After what felt like hours, he pulled into his driveway.

He slammed the car door shut.

He ran into the house.

He burst into Aly's room.

He had this stupid idea that she would be there, on the phone as always.
