Alec was gone.

He was not his self.

Anyone could see that.

Evelyn and Kyran always came to check up on him to make sure he had eaten and washed.

After their visits he hurt himself in places they wouldn't see.

Evelyn had phoned Evan to tell him what had happened and he'd immediately tried to contact Alec.

They had a long chat that ended up being more of a therapy session for both of them.

It was comforting for both of them to talk to one another.

The call ended with both of them feeling slightly better about their respective situation.

They were cheering eachother up when they were at their lowest point.

They were similar in one sense.

They were both heartbroken.

It was a shame that they couldn't be with eachother as they were very far from eachother.

After several weeks of staying home and doing nothing Alec got a call from school.

They were very apologetic but they asked for him to attend school tomorrow for his grades.

He agreed.

The next day he didn't put his uniform on.

He didn't clean himself up for school.

He didn't pack his bag.

He didn't make breakfast.

He wore a thin hoodie that Aly had bought for him.

He washed his face and brushed his teeth.

He picked up Aly's school bag.

He went to school hungry.

He didn't notice the weather and how clearly it was cloudy with a high chance of rain.

It just reflected his mood.

It was a damp and cold morning.

But he didn't notice nor care.

As far as he was concerned the weather shouldn't be nice after Aly died.

He trudged to school, his head empty and devoid of any way to showcase he was a living being.

He looked like a zombie.

On the way to school he saw the usual kids who bothered him and Aly.

Not Aly anymore.

At least she didn't have to suffer.

They all whispered when he walked by.

One called out to him.

"Hey now~, where'd your pretty sister go? It's a shame you two haven't shown up for weeks we were planning to chat."

Some of the girls in the group were clearly uncomfortable with this statement.

Alec, who had his gaze on the floor abruptly looked up.

They flinched at his loathing gaze.

"What did you just say about my sister?"

The guy nervously took a step back.

"H-hey man it was a joke-"

Alec slammed his head into the concrete.

The guy screamed before fainting from the impact.

There was a horrific noise as his skull made contact with the pavement.

The guy's friends stood there in shock.

Alec spat on the guy.

"How dare you try and threaten her."

The guy's friends looked mortified.

Some ran.

One threw up.

Others started crying.

Alec wiped his hands on the guy's clothes and then walked off.

He continued walking to school as if nothing happened.

When he finally arrived he got several uncertain looks from students and also some looked frightened.

Evelyn and Kyran spotted him and ran over.

Evelyn pointed to his earrings and jewelry and complemented them.

"Those earrings are so pretty! They look like Aly's favourite ones..." Her breath caught in her throat as a pain stabbed in her chest.

"I'm sorry..."

Alec smiled properly for the first time in what felt like months.

"Thank you, Evelyn. You have no idea how much I appreciate it."

He was wearing Aly's favourite earrings that day.

He also had several of her bracelets on.

Kyran lifted his arm up.

"I also have some of the friendship bracelets she made us, remember?" He grinned.

Alec's smile widened.

He threw his arms around Kyran.

"I'll make some new ones for all three of us." He promised.

They started to tear up at Alec's words.

He obviously wasn't over it and he shouldn't have to be but he was still trying hard for them.

Evelyn, with tears in her eyes joined the hug.

Alec slipped off two of the bracelets and handed them to her.

"We can all match."

As they all pulled away from the group hug they saw several people laughing at them.

Kyran rolled his eyes at them.

Evelyn shook her head in second hand embarrassment for them.

Alec ignored them as he usually did.

They had eachother.

And to them, at least for now, that would be enough.
