𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲!

I banged my head on my desk.

Over and over again.

"Can you stop that, I'm trying to study!" Aly called.

I stopped momentarily, feeling a liquid rushing down my head.

Yup, blood.

And lots if it.

I cautiously made my way to the kitchen to get a tea towel.

I wet it and put it on my head.

I heard Aly upstairs talking.

I tried to go up the stairs again but the stairs made a loud noise.

The talking stopped.

"Alec, you okay?" She yelled.

"Yeah. Just the stairs..." I answered.

There was a knock on the door.

"Can you get that, bro?" She asked.

I rolled my eyes.

I opened the door.

"Hi, honey." The voice cooed.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" I asked sharply.

I stared directly into her blood red eyes so much like mine and Aly's.

"Alec, it's me!"

She frowned when I shook my head.

"How can you not remember your own mother?!" She furiously accused.

I recoiled.

"Alec, who's at the door?" Aly questioned, at the top of the stairs, phone in hand.

"It's-" Mum tried to answer.

"Some random door to door salesman. It's fine." I cut her off.

I waited till Aly's footsteps faded.

"I'm sorry, I do not have a mother. Maybe you got the wrong house." I coldly said.

I shut the door firmly and locked it with the many locks we installed.

I could hear her voice through the door, pleading and high pitched.

Aly came down the stairs.

She cast a questioning look at the bloody towel on my head but didn't question it.

"Huh, why'd she have a suitcase?" She thought aloud.

I simply shrugged.

"Not sure."

Aly raised an eyebrow at me.

I looked at the red eyes we shared.

She suddenly lunged for the door and took half the locks down.

I slapped her hand.

"Go to your room!" I barked.

She looked at me, bewildered, clutching her red hand.

Tears formed in her eyes.

"I-I'm sorry- I didn't mean to- It was a reflex!" I desperately tried to explain.

She cried out an inaudible sound and rushed up the stairs.

My head throbbed even more than before.

I made my way slowly upstairs.

I knocked on her door.

"Aly, I'm sorry... You know I didn't mean it."

No reply.

"Aly can I come in?" I asked softly.

I heard quiet mumbles.

I opened the door to see her tear stained eyes.

My heart broke.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry-" I repeatedly said.

She giggled softly.

Despite her tear stained face her voice did not waver when she asked me a question.

"Who was that woman really? How did she make you that angry, you never loose your temper?"

"Aly..."

She looked me in the eyes with a look that said 'I'm not a child, do not treat me like one.'

"It was Mum. She came back." I answered reluctantly, looking anxiously for her reaction.

Her face looked so full of emotions.

She all of a sudden ran out the room and flew down the stairs.

"Aly!" I yelled after her, struggling to catch up.

But by the time I came she had the door open and threw her arms around mum.

They were both choking out with sobs.

I looked at them.

I saw how tightly they embraced eachother.

And suddenly felt alone.
