Proverbs 16:32 (NLT)

[32] It is better to be patient than powerful; it is better to have self-control than to conquer a city.

In an age where power seems to be the way of the day, we are told to possess patience and self-control. Patience will beat power any day of the week. The Grand Canyon was not formed over night, but it now is one of the biggest most beautiful holes in the world! The change you are attempting requires more patience than power. The person that you are dealing with requires more patience than power. Secondly, this proverb suggest not just patience but self control. Self control rather than conquering a city. Most changes that we are trying to make externally begin within. If you can conquer yourself, then you can take your "city". 1. Refuse to get uptight, by giving it to God. 2. Where you focus is what you worship. 3. Surrender all of yourself to God, and He will give you your victory!
