Ellie's POV

We enter a building that is guarded by WLFs. "When will we be done with these people?" I ask in a hushed tone.

"This engine is being fishy. Just give me a moment," A WLF says.

A walkie takie goes off on a WLF. "Sniper at 12. I repeat, a sniper at the marina. Any nearby unit report, over."

"Sh*t, unit 4, take the land bridge to the marina, the rest of us will wait here for further instructions."

Hoseok points at some stairs. "Over there, be careful and don't get notice." He cautiously walks over and up the stairs.

I follow suit with Jesse following behind me.

"So we're are just suppose to wait here while our men are getting snipped?"

We reach the second floor. I look over the edge and see the man who was probably the one talking about the engine. I see him fixing something on the boat.

"We must wait for orders. We have enough men to take care of a sniper or two."

"Ellie," Jesse whispers to me. Hoseok is looking at our way out of this place. "We can get to the marina through here."

"No, we are taking their boat," I state as I point back to where I saw the man with the boat.

"You heard them right? The sniper? That is probably RM and V."

"We don't know that," I tell Jesse. I know we need to take that boat.

"Well it's our best shot," Hoseok speaks up. I mentally let out a sigh.

"If it is them, they will be gone by the time we get there. Abby is where they will be headed, so if we just foll-" I say, pushing my agenda but Jesse cuts me off.

"What if they are in trouble?"

"They can take care of themselves." Jesse looks taken back by my words and Hoseok just looks down and shakes his head.

"My God Ellie," Jesse says as he walks towards the exit,

I try to explain why we should go after Abby and not the marina. "Look, the best way to help them is to go after Abby." Jesse looks at me and looks at Hoseok who looks like he is weighing all the options. "Look, if you do this, I am not gonna go after to save you again." I stare Jesse down.

He scoffs, "I really hope you make it."

He walks towards the exit and looks back at Hoseok. "Are you coming?"

I can see the hesitation in his eyes. "Hoseok," I say. He looks down and then looks at me.

"I came to bring my friends home, and that is what I will do. Sorry, Ellie." They then both exit, but Hoseok doesn't leave until he looks at me for one last time. I think I am left in shock, cause all I can do is stare at the place they were standing.

"Focus Ellie, get that boat, and find Abby. It's the only way to protect your friends."

_____

I sit in the boat that I had my mind set on. Rain pours and lightning strikes. "Abby, you better be there when I arrive." I say as I look at the ferris wheel in the distance. All across the town I see murals of the same lady with the words, "Feel my love."

"Who are you? Scars?"

I shake the thought away when I notice the ferris wheel closer than before. "Almost there. Soon Abby, soon. You better be there."

The wind starts to pick up and the thunder and rain becomes harder. The waves become stronger. I notice that the water level has risen even further in the city. The sky is gray and dark. "Almost there," I see the ferris wheel but I also notice how in a few yards from me, I will be entering what looks like the sea.
