Chapter 8

Narrator's POV

"Are you gonna tell me what's going on with you?" Ellie asks. 

Dina looks up and sees everyone keeping their distance for the two to talk. 

"What's going on with me? What's going on with you?" Dina says after getting enough air to breathe. "I saw you f*cking breathe spores, Ellie."

"I told you, I'm immune."

"You're immune? Come on," Dina says in disbelief. 

"I was bitten, a long time ago."

"What are you talking about Ellie?"

"I was bitten and nothing happened. You can even ask them," Ellie gestures to the other, "they know."

Dina takes in her words as she looks at the others. "So that chemical burn..."

"I can't get you infected if that's what you're worried about. I can't make you immune either." Ellie slowly gets closer to Dina as she speaks. 

Dina lowers her head and looks down. Ellie begins to get nervous and stand right in front of Dina. She then whispers, "Can you say something?"

"Ellie..." Dina moans out, as she rubs her face. Dina looks up as tears go down her face, "I think I'm pregnant."

"What?" Ellie says in disbelief.

"Don't worry, it's not yours," Dina says. 

The others hear what Dina says and decide to come over. Yoongi and Hoseok continue to do a sweep of the theater. 

"What are we sup--" Ellie stops herself as she looks at Dina. "What are we suppose to do now?"

"Nothing. I just need to rest for a second." Dina answers as she is trying her best to stay awake. 

"Are you f*cking kidding me..."

"Ellie, hey, calm down," Y/N says. 

"How long have you known?" Ellie says, frustrated at this point. 

Seokjin sits next to Dina as he rubs her back to console her. "I was late a few weeks ago."

Y/N knows Ellie is gonna be upset so she prepares herself for the worst. She knows better than to get between them, but if it gets out of hand, she will step in. 

"A few weeks? We could have still turned back."

"Ellie, come on, be fair," Jin says. 

"I didn't know. I wasn't sure, okay. I didn't want to be a burden--"

"Well you're a burden now, aren't you?"

All three of them look at Ellie in surprise. 

"Ellie, we need to talk, NOW," Y/N says in a serious angry tone. Causing Ellie to snap out of her mind world and realize what she had just said. 

"Jin, watch over Dina. Dina, get some rest, we had a long day," Y/N says in her calm voice. Jin nods his head as he Dina lays down and Jin waters some rags. 

Y/N walks away as Yoongi and Hoseok come back. "The place is cleared. What happened?" Hoseok says as he sees the angry look on Y/N's face and a sadden look on Ellies. 

"Nothing, did you guys secure the place?"

"Yeah, everything is secured. Found an interesting room upstairs. A radio up there but it doesn't work. Also, the door down the hall is locked."

"Kay, me and Ellie are gonna look around." They nod their head as Yoongi grabs, Ellie. 

"You guys are partners, remember that. You protect each other, not leave one for dead."
