Chapter 16

Namjoon's POV

Seattle Day 2

Taehyung and I put ourselves around the trailer. Scars or 'Saraphites' as Yara puts it, have arrived near our location looking for Yara and Lev, so we have been taking them out one by one whenever anyone tries to get near. Lev is inside taking care of Yara. She woke up with a fever and her arm has gotten even more swollen. I can tell that the best thing for her is to amputate her forearm.

As I look around I notice a familiar figure walking by. As I try to look closer I soon realize that its the Wolf from yesterday. I look around before making my way out of my hiding spot and to her. "RM? You guys are still here?" She looks around and sees dead bodies. "Scars are also nearby. Where are Lev and Yara?"

"They are inside. Yara needs medical attention." I explain. The Wolf walks into the trailer and sees Lev near Yara.

Beads of sweat drip off of Yara's face. The Wolf thinks for a moment about making a decision.

"Imma grab you, okay?" Yara nods as the Wolf picks her up bridal style.

"What are you doing?" Lev questions.

"Giving her a chance."

We all follow the Wolf, to where ever she is going.

We enter an aquarium. "Owen," The Wolf shouts. "Owen wake up."

"I'm coming," The man named Owen rushes to us. He stops in front of us when he notices two kids. "Are those scars?"

"I need whatever medical supplies you have."

Suddenly a dog comes barking, "Alice, no." Owen grabs Alice as Lev levels their arrow at the dog.

"ALICE."

"Put the bow down, it's okay." The Wolf states. "Alice shut up. Put the bow down it's okay."

All we hear is a clash of voices and Alice's barks. Suddenly another voice pops up.

"Alice," A woman who is pregnant walks in. Alice quiets down.

"Lev, lower the bow, it's okay." Lev does as they are told.

"Abby, who are these people?"

"They saved my life. This is Yara." Abby walks closer to the pregnant woman.

Taehyung looks at me as if he is telling me something.

"What did this?"

"A hammer."

"...Well, let's lay her down."

We all gather around as Mel, who is the pregnant woman figures out what to do.

"She has compartment syndrome. Her bone shattered."

I close my eyes. Remembering the last person in Jackson who had it. They died in a few days cause they never got a proper checkup. I look back at Taehyung who is playing with Alice.

"What does that mean?" Lev questions.

Abby hesitates to answer. "It means it has to come off."

"Wait, you can't take off her arm, she is a soldier."

I speak up, "There is no other way. If you don't then she could die from it."

"What do you need?" Abby questions.

"Ideally? A saw, sutures, clamps, and antibiotics."

"Okay, make me a list. I will go to the hos-"
