I did that piece of art ^^
... Mostly.Most of the linework isn't mine. 😢
Though, I take credit for his jacket and all the color. He's such a bean. 🥰 <3
I laid spread out on the floor, staring at the ceiling. The chairs and table were scattered throughout the room. The league members hadn't come to talk to me yet, and I was starting to get grumpy. If I had known that it would take this long, I would have shadow traveled away already.
But then Solace would have been made at me. Though, he is kinda cute when he gets mad.
The door abruptly swung open and the one and only Batman walked in. I sat up and crossed my arms.
"Took you long enough. Did you finally memorize your interrogation speech?"
Instead of answering, he picked up one of the forgotten chairs and sat. "It's nice to finally meet you again, Jason Stoll."
I mentally facepalmed myself. I completely forgot about my previous encounter with pointy ears.
First impressions are out the window then.
I shrugged "I don't think I can say the same about you."
"That's too bad... because we're going to know each other pretty well in the next few hours."
"You know, what happened at the party wasn't my fault. I didn't deliberately take all those people hostage and claim that I could take out Justice League members, with my own free will."
He nodded. "Yes, Wonder Woman reported the information you gave her. She believes your innocent in this matter."
"But you Don't." I deadpanned.
"No., I Don't. You broke into the Batcave, then escaped the secure interrogation room, and you won't stop lying to me. You have given me no reason to trust you."
I put my hands up in surrender. "Okay. So maybe I did do those things. So what? I didn't get lost in your hideout on purpose. And I certainly wasn't going to be your happy little prisoner."
"So why did you come back?" he questioned.
"It was either do whatever Modeus told me to do until I found a way out, or die in whatever gruesome way he chooses. There wasn't much of a choice." By this time I was sitting up and fidgeting with my skull ring.
"It didn't look like you were under gunpoint when you were in that ballroom. Was there a bomb or something in that mask you were wearing?"
I ran my fingers through my hair, "No. I believe the mask was just for his amusement. It has something to do with the magic he possesses. There's this mark on his palm that has some sort of power over me."
"So it's like mind control? It controls your actions."
I whipped my head up. "What? No. He'd have to be very powerful to do something on that scale. So far, the mark gives me immense pain whenever Modeus feels like giving it. Plus, you said you didn't believe me?"
He shrugged. "There has been no evidence that proves your innocence yet."
I rolled my eyes. "Anyways, I'm surprised that he hasn't blown me up yet. I did get the ghosts to restrain him for a while. The second I had a chance to prevent his master plan I took it. But he ended up escaping with the crowd. I tried to clue you guys in that I wasn't trying to do unspeakable things, but I don't think you picked up on that part. It was kind of hard to give you hints without Modeus finding out what I was doing."
