A Week Later - 7am

You and Severus haven't talked to each other in a week, just a few glances at each other at meals and when you pass by each other in the corridors. You arrived at The Great Hall and you were one of the first Professor's to arrive, the only other Professor there was Severus.

Well this is going to be awkward

You sat at the opposite end of the table and picked up your fork, taking a bite of your bacon not even bothering to look in his direction., Severus looked at you from the other end of the table and kept his gaze on you for a few seconds, he wanted to talk to you but he didn't know how to start the conversation.

Talon started to walk into the hall and you let out a sigh of relief, it felt great to finally have someone you could talk to, you felt like you finally had a friend. He shot you a friendly smile., "good morning, Y/n"., "good morning, Talo- uh, Alex".

He sat down next to you and shot you another smile., "I need to go to Hogsmeade and do a little shopping and I was thinking you would like to join me? I've got a friend's birthday coming up and I could really use your opinion on what to get her"., "of course, I would love to, when do we go?"., Talon thought for a moment, tapping his fingers on the table.

"Uh, say about 12"., you smiled and nodded., "sounds great"., Severus huffed and stabbed his fork into his bacon, he listens to every conversation you have with Talon, now he's overheard that you're going with him to Hogsmeade and Severus was furious.

You both looked at Severus and you could both tell he was angry., "Severus"., he loosened his grip on the fork when he heard your honeyed voice say his name, the first time you've talked to him in a week and he was happy that he was now the focus of your attention., he looked at you and his heart melted when he saw the worried expression on your face., "are you okay?".

"I'm fine"., you didn't believe him for a second so you got up and started to walk over to him, Severus started to internally panic, he didn't want you to come any closer because he knew it would not help him trying to keep you out of his head, but he also wanted to keep you close. You sat next to him and put your hand on his shoulder.

His breath hitched as he took a brief glance at your hand on his shoulder., "are you sure you're okay?"., he nodded, he couldn't say any words he is to in awe of you., you both stayed like that for a few moments, just gazing at each other.

Students and the other Professor's that had arrived, watched the both of you with curiosity, but you's didn't notice as you both couldn't pull your gaze away from each other., you offered him a sweet smile and it surprised you when he returned it., someone from behind you cleared their throat.

You again got startled, finally broke the gaze, took your hand off his shoulder and looked behind you to see Professor Mcgonagall., "oh, good morning, Professor Mcgonagall"., "good morning, dear, I see we are switching seats for today".

You immediately realised that you were in her seat., "oh, uh-"., Severus interjected: "no, she's going back to sit next to Talon"., Severus turned back to his food, you looked at Severus and Minerva looked at you., you let out a sad sigh, got up and started walking back to your seat.

Talon immediately noticed your sadness and he frowned, he didn't like to see a friend upset., "why don't you come to my chambers and we can have some tea?"., she smiled sadly and nodded., he smiled reassuringly, patted your shoulder., you both got up and started walking out of the hall.

Severus looked up from his plate to see you leaving with Talon and he was filled with so many emotions at once, jealousy, anger and sadness., he clenched his jaw and fists as he watched the both of you closely, making sure Talon isn't stupid enough to try anything.
