As I was writing this, the song "Dream A Little Dream of Me" was playing in my head. If you haven't heard it, give it a listen if you'd like. Anyways, happy Sunday guys

"Y/n..."

"Hmm..."

"L-Let's just share the bed."

In that moment, Armin genuinely wished that those words had never even made it through his mouth and out into the frigid air of the room. He thought that he was cold before, but now he felt as if he had been chilled to the core from the shock of his statement. He was slightly quivering, the fear of you possibly looking at him in disgust leaving him feeling anxious. His face had contorted into a look of pure unrest. He was waiting for what you had to say.

As soon as Armin voiced his suggestion, your eyes flew open and your mind was suddenly wrenched out of it's sleep-deprived haze. The blonde's sudden boldness had taken you by surprise and left you with no time to think of a proper response. He was a shy little thing for the most part, yet here he was, offering an intimacy with you that you had believed to have been beyond him. The thought of curling up next to him was nerve wracking. You would be afraid of him hearing the sound of your quickened heart beats, and even though it wasn't possible, you thought that he would suddenly become an esper and be able read your Armin-riddled mind. Your thoughts on the situation had become ridiculous.

Maybe you were just exaggerating things. He offered to share the bed with you, nothing more, nothing less. What was the problem with that besides your irrational nervousness? Here your friend was, being incredibly kind enough to save your back from a trip to the chiropractor and you were being rude by taking your time to respond.

You lifted your face up from the pillow and looked over to the blonde and indeed realized that you were being incredibly rude. The poor boy looked worried, his blue eyes trained onto his fingers that he was currently playing with and his brow lowered into an anxious frown. He looked to be wracked with remorse.

You breathed in quietly and exhaled your response, permeating the silence. "If you're ok with it, then yeah. Let's go for it." He looked up in surprise to the sight of you giving him a jittery smile. He certainly was not expecting you to agree.

"A-Are you sure? I wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable..."

"Then let's not make it uncomfortable. It'll only get awkward if we make it awkward." You sat up and once again stretched out your arms before forcing your tired body to get up from the floor. You reached down to grab your pillow and chucked it onto the bed, and then you extended a hand out for Armin to grab.

Armin's eyes fell upon your face and your outstretched arm. His heart picked up speed at the sight of the warm smile you were offering him. He couldn't stop the smile that crept up on his heated face as you pulled him up onto his feet. His head felt dizzy, and he didn't know if it was from standing up too quick or from the giddiness that he felt. He loved you in more than one way, and to be able to comfortably share a bed with you as his closest confidant, he felt as if it were adding a new layer to your relationship together. Of course he knew that the two of you were still friends, but the prospect of sharing this type of closeness felt as if the bond between you two was growing even deeper. It felt like one step closer towards something more.

"You're right."

The two of you moved onto the bed and laid comfortably under the thin blanket, feeling much less high-strung than before. Though you were right near each other, you were separated by a considerable amount, which put your minds at ease. Now that you both had cleared the air, sleep was able to cloud your minds and you felt yourselves succumbing to your fatigue.
