"You brought a blanket for the field trip?"

"Yes. I'm sure it's gonna be cold." Y/n said as she tucked the soft fabric into her bag and closed it. Armin was pleased that Y/n had brought one since he couldn't bring his bulky futon with him in his own bag that he had already overpacked.

Connie pressed his lips into a smirk and looked away from Y/n before he could burst out laughing. He turned to Sasha, who glanced at him with a knowing smile.

"Pretty sure you two just want to snuggle up under there."

"SHUTUP!" Y/n and Armin collectively shouted.

All of the German classes were in the process of gathering in the roundabout area where the buses usually dropped off the students in the morning. They were waiting for the arrival of the bus, which was scheduled to pick them up at around 11:30. Just in time for Y/n to miss her fourth period math class which she absolutely loathed.

The others began to trickle in from their third period classes, and Ms. Ral soon found herself overwhelmed and having to deal with an energetic crowd of students. Exasperated, she flailed around with the clipboard and quickly found solace in Mr. Ackerman's approaching figure.

"Oh, thank God you're here! Please help me get control of these kids so I can take attendance!"

She looked at Mr. Ackerman's unchanging face in desperation, and he merely sighed at the frantic woman. He walked through the crowd of students, and once upon seeing his hard expression, they parted like the Red Sea. Ms. Ral followed closely behind.

Once at the front, he cleared his throat loudly and commanded the attention of everyone present, all students snapping their heads up at his firm tone.

"Alright, listen up, brats. I want you all to form two single file lines now so that we can see who's here and who's getting left behind. Understand? Now, go."

Mr. Ackerman subtly tilted the corner of his lips as he looked on in satisfaction at the students, who quickly scrambled like scared chickens to line up. Ms. Ral turned to him in amazement.

"Wow, Levi, what have you done to these kids that have made them this scared of you?"

"I don't know, Petra, but I'd suggest you learn how to get these brats under control," he said to her as he surveyed the group of kids. She rolled her eyes at him before scanning the faces of her frightened students, taking a rough headcount.

"Well, well, I'm not surprised to see that a certain green-eyed menace didn't make it in time," Levi mused.

The man's steely eyes fell onto the distant figure of a disgruntled boy running across the stark white cement, a brown mess of hair flopping in the air as the boy tore his way across the campus and onto the turnout area.

"HELL YEAH I MADE IT!" Eren said as he screamed in an exaggerated manner and rammed straight into where Armin and Jean stood. The two unsuspecting boys turned to Eren in anger. "Right on time, too," the brunette said as the buses rolled through the gate and into the lot.

"That was completely unnecessary."

"What the fuck is wrong with you, Eren? Chill out."

Eren ignored Armin and Jean's angry complaints in favor of grinning over at a snickering Y/n.
