Previously on 'A Starlit Gaze'..."What's all the yelling abou- Oh my god-" A muffled voice approached them. Those seeking refuge under the table came up to the surface to hear the voice clearly.

(This chapter has been edited!)

"M-monaca?! W-we can explain! We weren't fighting! We were just... uh playing!!" Kotoko waved her hands frantically, trying to explain the situation to the pickle-haired girl.

"Th-then why were you yelling at each other...?" Monaca sniffed.

Nozomi didn't want her to start crying again so her mind was thinking of what to lie she could say to convince Monaca... 'the warriors were testing out the food to see if it would float in the air? No that doesn't make sense'

"They said the food tasted so good that they wanted to see how durable it would be as weapons!" Nozomi gave herself a mental head pat. "That's why they were yelling! To make it seem like a real war-zone." Nagisa added on to her story, helping her with the improv.

Nozomi nodded. "Nagisa and I were hiding underneath the table so we would be the detectives!"

Nagisa was going to agree but he stopped himself by glaring at her, so did everyone else.

"We were so close..." Jataro mumbled.

"You were doing so good too!" Kotoko groaned.

"Detectives on the battlefield? Really?" Nagisa bonked her on the head which she protected with her hands, "Sorry, sorry!!" Nozomi squeaked.

"Why would food be used as weapons anyway?" Kotoko facepalmed.

Trying to defend herself, Nozomi said, "Hey I wasn't really the best in drama class!"

"We can tell." The three said in unison.

"Even Jataro agrees." Kotoko said.

Masaru stormed into the room, "I just played a game with Monaca" He gave a proud look to Nagisa, trying to make him jealous I suppose.

"Has she forgotten about what happened?" Nagisa asked with a sigh of concern.

"Of course! She was playing with me after all!" Masaru boasted which earned him an eye-roll from Kotoko and Nagisa. Well, Kotoko's was more obvious, noticeable enough for Masaru to see. "What's that supposed to be for?" He huffed with an angered look which quickly morphed into a smirk. "You both are just jealous that I got to play with Monaca, aren't you?"

"Both?" Nozomi asked.

"Nagisa obviously." Kotoko looked at the boy in question as if she herself wasn't included in Masaru's statement too.

"Why would I have to be jealous that Monaca is happy? I'm happy if she's happy." Nagisa replied with his arms crossed.

"That's an interesting way to avoid the accusation-" Nozomi said. Masaru, bored of this conversation abruptly left the room to get some supplies. Dragging Jataro against his will with him. Supplies for what? Did we forget something?

"Nozomi, didn't we do improv in school?" Kotoko said, referring to the incident which angered Monaca earlier.

"Well no one can beat you! The queen o-"

"We don't talk about that." Kotoko interrupted Nozomi which immediately heavied the atmosphere.

"O-oh sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up." Nozomi apologised, shying away slightly.

Kotoko shifted back to her happy-go-lucky personality and changed the topic, "You and Nagisa were actually pretty synchronised with it! That's a sign of a good companionship!"
