Previously on 'A Starlit Gaze'...

"I want someone to join us! You know, to help with the meal preparations!" She brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear as her eyes scanned the surroundings, searching for the person whom she wanted to invite. Her smile faded into a look of confusion as she realized that the person she's looking for might be harder to find. "Erm- well, you guys go on without me! I'll join you with him!".

Nozomi jogged her way to inquire about where the person she's searching for could be in this spacious building. She bumped into someone while her thoughts crowded her mind, making her unable to focus on the path ahead. "S-sorry! Are you okay?". She held Nagisa's shoulders and scanned him for injuries. "Ow... yeah. I thought you were supposed to be the healer but you seem to be the one causing the wounds." Nagisa teased Nozomi and dusted his clothes. She gave out a friendly giggle and sighed, "Oh, hey, I was actually looking for you!" She withdrew her hand from his shoulder and held it up to her cheek with her index finger pointing upwards.

"Oh, you were? For what reason?". Nagisa raised his brow dubiously.

"No need to be so suspicious." She huffed her cheeks cutely and pouted. She held her hands behind her back as her body tilted slightly to the side, "I was going to ask you if you had seen Jataro?".

"Jataro? So you can continue exchanging theories about the after-life?" Nagisa playfully inquired.

"I think that can wait 'til after dinner." Her lips curled into a small smile, "I wanted to ask him if he would like to help us cook! Well, do you know where he could be?" She got the topic back on track, it was her turn to raise her brow now.

"Hmm, I'm not sure what he is up to but I guess he would be holed up in his room as always." Nagisa thoughtfully replied.

Her eyes widened in excitement as she said, "We have rooms?".

"Huh? Oh yeah... We didn't tell you? Well, your arrival was unexpected."

"Fair, point. Can I see my room? Please?" She pleaded Nagisa while her face wore a convincing look of desperation. He sighed at her attempts to get him to do such a simple task, which he was going to do anyway. "You know that since you're a member of the organization, you don't need to plead as much, right?" He firmly pointed out. "Well, I wouldn't want to overstay my welcome. Although, that doesn't mean I'll stay formal forever." She gave him a soft smile. "This is your way of being formal? Maybe I don't want to see the informal side of you after all..." He sarcastically murmured.

"Hey! I can hear you..." She pouted. "You'd be fine if I said that where you couldn't hear it?" He raised his brow again. Nozomi, now slightly flustered at her lack of response, frantically tried to gather some words that could be of use in this conversation. 'Any word is fine! Just say something so you don't look like a babbling fool.', She told herself. She spat out the first thing that came to her mind, which, unfortunately for her turned out to be,

"P-pancakes." She huffed with a red face. Nagisa stared at her in confusion, "Excuse me?"

'Okay, maybe not  any word...'  She cringed on the inside as her face became redder,

"Um, I may or not have done little to no thinking before speaking..." She shyly twiddled her fingers.

"That much was made clear, yes." Nagisa sighed in disbelief. Nozomi giggled as she said, "Well, I'm not really good with come-backs and stuff... and I definitely am not as smart as you!".

"Well, I suggest reading books, they would help a lot in expanding your vocabulary and such." Nagisa lectured Nozomi.

"Will keep that in mind! Although, the only books I'm used to reading are recipe collections..." She accepted his advice with a smile, I mean, when is she not smiling?
