Previously on 'A Starlit Gaze'...
"You want to be of use to me? Why me in particular?" He asked with skepticism in his tone and his attention divided between this conversation and the novel in his hands.
I stopped cutting the apple and looked at him with my arms crossed. "Do you seriously still suspect me?"
He silently flipped a page.
"It's been 4 days and you're still suspicious of me, at this rate I don't think you deserve this pie!"
"It's a tart." He corrected.
"Well you're not getting that either." I continued to cut the fruit angrily.
"Where's the Servant by the way? Haven't seen him in a while." I asked Nagisa who was sitting on the couch, blissfully reading his book.
"I don't know but I'd say good riddance. That milkshake he made the other day would've killed somebody." He said, not diverting his gaze from the story he's reading.
"It wasn't that bad..." I tried to recall its taste accurately from my terrible memory. "Okay well, it wasn't any good either..." It seriously would have made no difference if he had just given us a cup of cement. At least that would've ended the misery that is having to drink that abomination of a milkshake. "Well from now on, you can just ask me if you want anything to eat! I'm not really doing anything for you guys other than cooking anyway."
I nudged the tart towards him. "Eat up!"
"How did you find out about our plan to build the Paradise?" Nagisa eyed her distrustfully.
She sighed, "Come on! I just made you some delicious pastry will you shove that suspicion somewhere else??"
He indifferently took a bite from the tart, "So you're avoiding the question." He assessed.
"No, ugh fine, just... tell me how the tart is and then I'll tell you okay?"
He took another bite, "It's good." And continued eating.
She looked at him in disbelief. "That's it?! You're so ungrateful, I'm never making you anything again."
She took out a spoon and stole a bite from his plate scornfully. "I overheard a conversation Monaca was having."
He was about to protest about her thievery but got more interested in what she said. "Go on."
"What's more to it? Um, she was talking to a few Monokuma kids? You know, the ones with the helmets on. She was explaining the gist of the paradise to them, I assume they were new recruits at the time. So I decided that I wanted to try and join since the paradise was very much like my goal as well."
"How did you know about this building though?" He interrogated her, trying to focus on the delicious pastry as well as Nozomi at the same time.
"Well, I just followed Monaca after that conversation and it led me here."
He kept his spoon down and raised a brow, "She didn't spot you?"
"Well..." Her cheeks started to flush a little, "I almost got caught."
Accepting her answer, he took his spoon back and took another bite of the tart.
"I tripped on a rock and Monaca came to see where the sound came from but I hid behind a car.
