Chapter 7

Previously on 'A Starlit Gaze'...

 "Did you have a demon who made your life hell Nozomi?" A voice asked.

Everyone in the room called out in unison, "Monaca!" 

"Yeah, of course I did! I want nothing more but hell for him." She answered with determination.

The children went over the plan for the next day and while at first Nozomi was having trouble understanding what most of the equipment would be used for, she... is still confused.

"That pretty much wraps it up." Nagisa folded the map laid out on the table with Jataro in charge of tidying up the rest of the supplies used during the meeting. Nagisa paused before looking at Nozomi, "Any questions?"

She shook her head and gave a thumbs-up, "Nope! None at all!" Nagisa raised his brow.

"W-well..."

"Goodnight everyone! Take rest for tomorrow!" Monaca waves goodbye. Masaru and Nagisa were arguing about who would accompany the girl to her room while Kotoko was excited about having a roommate. "I usually wouldn't share my room with anybody but you're an exception Zozo!" She booped her nose. 

"You're too kind Kotoko," She said sheepishly. "But is it really okay for me to-"

"YES!" Kotoko said excitedly, "Now come on, let's leave the boys to their childish quarrels." She grabbed Nozomi's hand and dragged her out of the room with a "Good night!",

"Good night everyone!! Sleep well!" Nozomi was barely able to finish her sentence with Kotoko's excitement pulling her away. 

"So, I know Nagisa said that I should take it easy on you on your first day here but who listens to him anyway? What do you wanna do tonight? Ooh-! I can paint your nails! I found this beautiful butterfly nail sticker online yesterday and it arrived almost immediately! Of course, some threatening had to be done but tomato tomah-toe am I right?" Kotoko rambled on, leaving the other girl unable to catch up. 

"I was thinking maybe you could show me around the building?" Nozomi asked.

"Hmm... Good idea! Let's do that tomorrow!" She said, dismissing Nozomi's idea.

"Wait." Kotoko stopped, making the girl behind her almost bump into her. She turned around to face the Nozomi, "You didn't bring luggage."

"Huh?"

"You didn't bring any of your belongings! No clothes, no toothbrush, no hair accessories!" Well one of these is not as much of a necessity as the other but let's not tell her that.

"That's right... I guess I didn't expect to be let in to the group, hehe."

"The people I'm surrounded by I swear...." She sighed with the signature face-palm of disappointment.

Meanwhile, the two boys are still arguing about which one of them is worthy enough to accompany Monaca back to her room. "Well Masaru your point doesn't even make any sense and I'll have you know that this whole conversation is useless now." Nagisa said calmly with his arms crossed, all cool like he didn't just lose his temper on this trivial issue a second ago.
