Since it was starting to get a lot hotter outside, you decided that now was the time to work on your garden. As you swung open the door, you were met with Michael's face, looking at the floor before quickly meeting his eyes with yours. "Hey!" You said. "I wasn't expecting you." You lightly chuckled. "Oh I just wanted to come to check on you I guess.." Michael said, patting the back of his head while laughing, as various shades of pink started to paint across his cheeks. You smiled at his nervousness.

"I wanted to ask you something." He spoke, his heart racing.

"Would you want to maybe.." He paused, choosing his words wisely. "Do you think it'd be okay to.. possibly go on a date with me.. maybe?"

You widely smiled at his attempt to ask you out. You could tell it was his first time asking anyone out. "Michael, how long have you been practicing this?" You asked, teasingly. He let out a slight chuckle.

"Too long.."

"Well, I would love to go on a date, Michael." You said, beaming. "Is there a particular place you'd want to go?" Michael looked at you confused at the question.

"No? I'm not sure.." He snickered. "What do you do on a date anyway..?" He asked. "Well, there's plenty of stuff we could do. If you want, there's this great froyo place in town right in front of this beautiful park. We can go there. You probably already know it considering you grew up here."

Michael glanced down, frowning. "No, I don't... My grandma doesn't let me go out into town. Or anywhere really... I was lucky enough to get her to agree to let me hang out with you." He paused and stared back up. "And that was because I really.. wanted to hang out with you."

You pulled him in for a hug. He stood there, arms hanging at his sides, as you hugged him. You could tell how touch-deprived the poor boy was. Michael slowly lifted his arms and wrapped them around you. "I'm so sorry Michael. You don't deserve that. Any of that. You deserve so much more. And that's exactly what I intend to give you."

Michael couldn't have been more thrilled. He felt that for the first time in his life, he had someone. He still loves his grandmother, yes, but he never felt her love for him. Though it hurt him, none of that mattered now. All he needed was the way you felt for him.

"Michael, have you finished cleaning your room-" Constance paused as she entered Michael's room. It was clean, spotless even. Michael was always tidy and clean, but he'd usually miss a few articles of clothes lying around. So to see his room completely arranged, got Constance thinking. Michael exited his bathroom.

"Where are you going?" Constance asked as she noticed he had gotten dressed up. "Well, you did say I could hang out with Y/N again. So that's what I'm doing grandma." He said and made his way to the front door. Reaching for the door handle, Constance quickly catches up to him.

"Michael-" She said, pausing herself. Michael stopped, turning around and looking at her with his innocent blue eyes. Constance's instinct was to stop him, make sure he can never get close to you or any other person, however, she thought that maybe you could be a good influence on him.

"Be careful... and have fun." Constance said, hesitantly. Michael smiled brightly at the remark. He nodded and exited the home.

You and Michael both got your froyo, and made your way to the park. You got Berry Tarte and Michael decided to try blueberry.

The two of you sat under a large oak tree, beautiful dandelions surrounding the both of you.

You continued to talk about your favorite horror movies. "By far, I would say The Conjuring is one of my top five. We should watch it together sometime. You know, like have a little movie night." You explain, before taking another spoonful of the froyo.

"Yeah, I would like that." Michael smiled. It bought you joy to see Michael so free and happy. It seemed like he was always trapped in that home, not allowed to see anything or anyone. But now he was with you, and he was happy. And that's all you ever wanted for him.

While talking with Michael, you noticed his sudden change in his behavior as he stopped talking. You glance at him.

"Michael? You okay?" You ask. Michael takes his hands to his lips and watches the ground. He quickly looks back up, leaning in and pressing his full lips against yours. You were shocked at first but slowly felt your eyes shut. Once he noticed that he didn't screw things up and that you returned the kiss, he used both hands and grabbed you by the waist, pulling you closer and deepening the kiss. The two of you started to sink into the kiss. You wrapped your arms around him and felt your hands slowly snake up to his hair that felt ever so soft, just as you imagined. For what you assumed was his first kiss, he did exceptionally well. His lips were doing great around yours and his hands were in all the right places.

As the sun started to set, you lied your head down on Michael's lap, his hands playing with your hair as he smiled and took in the sight of you. Gathering some flowers that the two of you were entrapped by, Michael fashioned together a flower crown. "Look what I made!" Michael said excitedly. You quickly got up. "Oh wow. Michael, that's beautiful." You gasped as he carefully placed the crown on your head. "You, look beautiful Y/N." He said, with his hand on your face. You tackled him with a hug and the two of you fell onto the soft grass. You lay there, with your head resting on his chest, as Michael returned to playing with your hair.

The two of you watched as the sun started to disappear, taking in this moment. Taking in each other. For a long time, Michael believed he was unloved, unwanted, and alone for the rest of his life. But right here, under this oak tree, was everything Michael ever wanted and needed for the rest of his life. You, and the way you felt for him.

You slowly felt your eyes flutter, as you fell asleep to the sound of Michael's heartbeat. And as he admired your presence and you altogether. It was in this moment, while he was falling asleep with you in his arms, that he realized something. He is falling in love with you. Or better yet, he already is in love with you.
