"We waited all night Adonis and there's no word of them. It's time," I tell Adonis from a couch across the way from him.
"We mustn't be hasty about this! You don't know what's going on in Cerebellium," he exclaims in an overeager way.
We've been up all night waiting for word from the Orinnian soldiers but no such luck. Adonis is sleep deprived and whether or not he admits it I know he is worried about them.
"Adonis you have sent word to your soldiers via fire and there has been no response," I get up off the couch and sit down next to him. "You don't have to go. You've been opposed to going since the beginning but I am going to go. Let me know what you decide."
He lets out out a deep breath before speaking, "No I want to go. I was just hoping it wouldn't come to this."
"Me too," I say resting my head on his shoulder, "me too."
...
We got a smaller sailing boat from the pier since it's only the two of us and bringing along a crew to a land said to be completely uninhabited isn't a grand idea. Of course it being extremely dangerous for them plays a part as well.
Adonis bought it from a man who was gifted in the art of Telekinesis. He said he picked it up from the shore and moved it into the water right in front of him.
The sun is high in the sky as we sail smoothly through the waters, "It surprises me how well you are at sailing," I say to Adonis and he just chuckles.
"Now why is that?" He says while retightening a rope.
"Well you're a king, I would have thought you'd have people to do it for you and you're gifted with fire. I'm surprised you even go near the water," I say and look up at him .
"I like to do things myself and as far as water goes, it's just an element. I love a good swim every once in a while," he responds slightly shocking me. He never fails to surprise me.
I flick my fingers through the air and the ocean water splashes his face. He wipes it dry before shooting me a look.
"I'm getting you back for that one!" He says and starts running toward me.
I giggle as I run to the other side of the hull countering the weight of the boat making it sway back and forth slightly.
"I thought it's just an element!" I say between breaths as I can't stop laughing. "Too much water for big bad Adonis?"
He's smiling and I'm trying to stay on the exact opposite side of the sail but he finally catches and picks me up.
"Adonis put me down!" I say still laughing as he carries me bridal style to the edge of the boat.
"As you wish," he says as he pretends to throw me in but I quickly leap out of his arms into the water.
I swim underneath the boat to the back side quickly as I climb back on the boat silently.
"Athanasia! I'm so sorry, can you hear me?" He yells at the water. "Athanasia!"
He turns around to grab the sail but I'm sitting there soaking wet. He shoots me a dirty look and groans as I smile.
"Oh come on, the water is my place. Nothing would ever happen to me in the water," I tell him earnestly and he looks up.
"Yeah I should've known that but I forgot for a minute!" Adonis says to me trying to explain himself but I just chuckle."So do tell me, how were you planning to get to Cerebellium if you don't know how to sail?"
"Same way I got here," I say in an obvious tone. "Swim."
"You were going to swim to Cerebellium?! It's a three day trip!" He exclaims and I just wave my hand.
"I would take a break, where do you think I stayed when I wasn't in the house?" I ask him now that's it's apparent he doesn't realize how close with the water I am.
"On the side of a building? Maybe a hotel, I don't know! How did you swim all the way here?" His tone is confused but does hold a little humor in it.
"I stayed in the water silly," I take off my coat and ring it out before throwing it on the ground. "Look out in front."
I dive in the water and swim about 200 meters ahead in a couple seconds before popping my head out of the water. I see Adonis still checking the water a little bit in front of the boat before his eyes finally trail out to where I am.
I immediately swim back and climb back on the boat. I ring out my hair and run my fingers through it before I see Adonis sit absolutely dumbfounded.
"Told you," I say sticking my tongue out at him.
"Yeah," Adonis says sitting down still in shock.
Out of nowhere Adonis head falls and his whole body collapses.
I run over to him, "Adonis!" I shake him and there's no movement. His eyes are closed and his body is on fire. I look up at the sky and clouds are starting to form.
He's still alive but he's in some kind of sleep. I stand up to turn the sail like Adonis would but I feel my eyes grow heavy before I collapse.
