How was I going to go about this? I asked myself over and over again as I sauntered around the house.
"Maame are you okay?" The woman who now occupied my grandmother's house kept asking. We had actually become good friends since my recent visit with Logan, and she absolutely adored him. She wouldn't stop questioning me about his whereabouts, and the reason I chose to visit the village without him this time. Incase you were wondering too, kofi and I decided that Henry's mother should get to spend sometime with Logan when she wanted too. It was only fair, she raised him, and besides he asked about her almost all the time.
"I am fine Nana." I replied sighing. I couldn't take my eyes off my phone for close to one second. Kofi was supposed to call me upon arrival, but he hadn't and I was damn tensed. Layla wasn't picking my calls either. Well quite understandable, she was probably enjoying herself somewhere and genuinely I was glad.
"Food is ready maame, didn't you tell me you were pregnant? For the baby's sake come and eat something."
"I am not hungry Nana, reserve mine, I promise to eat soon." I answered trudging into my room and back.
"Where are you headed to looking all pretty maame?"
Why did this woman ask so many questions and at the same time ? God save me. I turned to look at her with a petty smile on my face.
"And what's in that little box maame?"
With the smile still on my face, I waved at her and rushed out of the house before I died from all those questions she was throwing at me.
She wasn't wrong though, where was I going with that ring and looking all pretty. Wasn't sure he would come anyway.
Distracting my thoughts was Layla's phone call, gosh finally.
"Layla I have been calling you, what's up? Are you fine? Are you having fun?"
"Serwaa relax, although it's a phone call I can still sense your nerves way over here. Is kofi there?"
"No." I answered dishearteningly.
"How, I saw on his Instagram that he was around there. Check his last post on IG, isn't that the famous waterfall you have always been talking about? Where you guys first did the erm you know... the do?"
I laughed, "you are so silly, but why would he go there without calling me first?"
"Honestly I have no idea, but you should check. Got to go Serwaa, my man is in bed waiting for me, and I don't like my food cold so..."
"Food?... ew nasty. Get out of here."
"With pleasure." We both chortled then she hung up.
What could kofi be doing there, I asked myself taking the path that led to the river.
