"You have to sign these papers so the surgery can commence Miss." the doctor explained.

I couldn't bring myself to do it. "What is this? It states that should something bad happen during the surgery the hospital is not to be blamed You want me to sign this, you have got to be kidding me?" I replied angrily scanning through every page.

"If we don't perform this operation we could lose the patient in a day or two Miss."

"Serwaa you have to sign these papers and just believe that Kofi will be fine." Layla interspersed.

I turned to look at Logan's face and how confused he seemed sitting at the corner of the hospital room. We were supposed to spend the day together getting to know each other better then this happened. I prayed for Kofi to get well so we could all be together soon but...
What do I do my son, your dad's life is in jeopardy. What do I do?

"The kofi I know is a fighter." A voice similar to that of Bianca's interrupted. It was almost as if  the person could read my thoughts. It was her, well what was left of her I should say. She looked well.. different being wheeled into the room by an elderly man who seemed homely. More of a relative or sorts, perhaps her father.

"Dad please take me closer." She said referring to the man who had escorted her confirming my thoughts exactly. Her tone was so soft, she always had this confident way of speaking but today the difference was so clear.

"You have an hour to decide, I will be back soon." The doctor said taking his leave. An hour to decide? I simply nodded at him unsure if anything was going to change within an hour.

"Dad kindly excuse us." I had never seen or heard her act this polite. Could she really not see, was she really blind? I felt so sorry for her. She looked like she had something to say to me but wanted us to be alone. Therefore I signaled Layla to take Logan out.

"Are you sure?" Layla questioned. She looked so concerned, obviously we both didn't trust Bianca but what was the worst thing she could possibly do to me in that condition.

"I will be fine, hey baby Aunty Layla is taking you out to get ice cream. Buy one for mommy okay?"

"Yes mommy." Logan replied cheerfully rushing over to give me a hug before stepping out with Layla.

"Bianca how are you?" I asked after they left.
Truthfully, she didn't look like herself, she looked pathetic yet somehow she managed to smile. "I am okay" she answered.

"Listen Serwaa I am so sorry...

"No Bianca." I interrupted, "I had no right, I ruined Kofi's life before you picked up the pieces and I forced my way back in only to break him again. This is all my fault, I should have stayed away when you asked me to. Things wouldn't have gotten this worse."

"Well true.." she chuckled. "You should have stayed away. In a way I think you did, but He still chose you. I did everything to prevent him from getting his memories back because deep down I knew he didn't love me. I have wronged you too Serwaa. Sending you to prison for something you didn't do. Making you believe that Kofi left you in the village to come be with me. Forgive me." She sighed.
