"From what I know about you, I'm surprised you've managed to stay this long."

We both turn to see Charles walking from the shadows.

"What do you know about me?"

"Everything."

"Then you know to stay out of my head."

Erik turns to leave, and I silently followed after him. No matter what I think of them, Erik and our mission is the first priority.

"I'm sorry, Erik, but I've seen what Shaw did to you. I've felt your agony. I can help you."

"I don't need your help."

"Maybe not but what about you Alex. I may not be able to get into your head but I can sense the guilt and the pain that you feel."

I roll my eyes and turn to him, I glare at him.

"We don't need your help, go back inside and leave us alone."

"Don't kid yourself; you needed my help last night. It's not just me you're walking away from. Here, you have the chance to be part of something much bigger than yourself. I won't stop you leaving. I could. But I won't."

He turns to leave, as he's walking away he yells at us.

"Shaw's got friends. You could do with some."

He had went inside, after a few moments Erik grabs my hand and we start to leave. We had made it to a hotel near by when I had finally spoken up.

"Maybe he's right."

He looks at me for a moment, he seems confused.

"I'm not saying he's totally correct just about the friends part. Just Shaw and Emma we can defeat but when he has Azazel and the other guy with him...."

I move closer to him as he sits down in a chair. I sit down in his lap and lay my head on his shoulder.

"Just think about it, we may need them."

He doesn't say anything, he wraps his arm around my waist. I close my eyes as his breathing stills. I grab his hand and pull it into my lap.

"I just want him gone...for good."

I had feel asleep curled up next to Erik. We had fell asleep in the chair but I'm guessing he must have woken up and moved us to the bed.

I had swiped at my eyes, my vision started to focus. I could see than the small wrinkles had disappeared. I start to move my fingers over his cheek and near his jaw, i finally get to see how attractive he really is.

I smile as I go to move my fingers over his plump lips, before I could fully touch his bottom lip he grabbed my wrist. He was tiredly looking at me, I couldn't help but smile.

"What are you doing."

"Just admiring how attractive you are."

"We've be together for a few days now and I still haven't gotten over how blunt you are."

"This is nothing."

I move closer as we keep eye contact, I gently lean over him. I support my weight as his hands have found my sides.

"You should see me when I let my guard down."

I jump up and walk over to the bathroom, I look in the mirror and fix my hair a bit. I look back into the room to see him looking at Shaws file.

"We need to go back, and don't argue. You know that I'm right, that Charles is right."

🇩🇪

We had secretly made it back into the building, not seeing any of the agents. I had heard the agents thoughts, I had dragged Erik to the open door.

"What if they don't want to be found by you?"

They're both surprised to see us, i faintly smile at Charles as he does the same to us.

"Erik, Alex You decided to stay."

I nod as I turn to the agent that seems to want to do it without us.

"If a new species is being discovered, it should be by its own kind. Eric and I help Charles find the mutants. No suits."

"First of all, that's my machine out there. Second of all, much more importantly, this is Charles' decision. Charles is fine with the CIA being involved. Isn't that right?"

He looks between us and then back at the agent.

"You know we're right."

He frowns at the agent and I thankful smile.

"No. I'm sorry, but I'm with them. We'll find them alone."

"What if I say no?"

"Then, good luck using your installation without me."

They all look at me and I grimace, I'm still not use to them knowing about my telepathy.

"I'm not doing anything involving that machine."

The man had an attitude but he agreed anyway, now I'm being lead by Charles to the machine. Erik and Raven walking behind us, as we enter I smile at Hank.

"I, uh... I call it Cerebro."

Charles and I both lightly laugh as I lean against the metal frame next to Erik.

"As in the Spanish for "brain."

"Yes."

"Okay, so, uh, the electrodes connect Charles to the transmitter on the roof. When he picks up a..."

He clears his throat, Raven blushes and I smile. I silently look between Eric and Charles.

"...mutant, his brain sends a signal through a relay, and then coordinates of their location are printed out here."

"You designed this?"

"Yeah."

Charles puts the Cerebro on his head, Erik and I make our way to standing in front of him.

"What an adorable lab rat you make, Charles."

"Don't spoil this for me, Erik."

"Oh. But he's right, you are quite adorable. We've both been lab rats. We know one when we see one."

"Okay. Great."

I smirk at Charles as hank comes over and checks the helmet on his head.

"Are you sure we can't shave your head?"

"Don't touch my hair."

"Don't touch his hair."

Everyone looks at me as we spoke at the same time. I laugh as I watch him, he winks at me. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"He has nice hair, almost like a lions mane."

Hank starts to turn on a bunch of switches and buttons. Me and Erik are next to Charles, he smiles at me and closes his eyes.

"Okay. It's working."
