"So what are we doing today?" I ask getting up off Alex's lap and grabbing the dishes around the table.

"I'm metting Jace for a movie, and I'll probably be with him all day, since I'm pretty tired." Carter pipes up.

"Oh the party girl finally gets tired of partying." I mock her playfully. "When are you going to admit that you are hoplessly in love with Jace Williams?" I say over dramatically as I walk the few steps to the sink.

"Oh shut up, I'm not in love with him. Would you stop that. Not like you would know what it's like to be in love. It just ends in broken hearts and the guy ditches you." Carter says bitterly looking into the distance. I set down the dishes and turn around.

"Not everyone's like that Carter." I say sadly looking to her.

"Yeah. All of them are the same." She scofs, then looks to me with soft eyes, "But not Alex, you hold onto him sis. I mean that. Yes I know, even if you don't yet. But hold onto him, and don't you ever let go." She says quietly and sincerly. Carter smiles and hugs me quickly, "All right I'm out, things to do, people to see." She says smiling and waving.

"Bye Carter!" All the boys yell. She waves and grabs her keys and shuts the front door, behind her.

"Well, I'm picking up Willow from the airport, so I better go get showered and everything." James says smiling.

Willow is James best friend, like Alex and myself. They are very close and everyone at school thought they were dating. And they practically are. I mean they act like it, besides anything physical they were practically a couple. Though both in denial. Willow had become a good friend of mine, when James and I became friends.

"I got to go as well, see yeah Lizzie." Conner says coming up to me as I lean up against the counter. He comes up crushing me into a hug.

"Bye Conner." I say laughing at him and hugging him back.

"Bye Lizzie." He smiles and grabs his stuff and heads out.

"Alright I better as well meeting the girlfriend." Brandon says happily fixing his dark hair into it's perfect quiff.

I laugh at him, "Bye dork."

"Bye babe." He says giving me a hug and winking.

"I'll say hi to Brit for you." Brandon smirks.

"How about no?" I roll my eyes. You see Brit is the most popular girl at school, and none of the other guys like her. She's pretty much a minipulative bitch. She hates how close I am to Brandon, and the fact that the gang loves me and hates her. Bummer.

"LOVE YOU!" I shout out after him as he leaves. I hear him laugh and wave.

"Well, I guess that is my cue?" Luke says smirking at me.

"Bye babes." He smiles and hugs me, holding on longer than everyone else. Someone coughs behind us and Luke pulls away. I feel an arm slip around my waist and look up to see a Alex sending daggers toward Luke. I roll my eyes and smile to Luke.

"See you Lukey." I add a wink and he chuckles at me and leaves, keys in hand.

The door closes and the silence engulfs the house.

"Seriously Alex." I say laughing at him.

"What?" He asks innocently.

"You know what. What's with the over protective act hmm?" I ask still laughing at him.

"Why is this funny to you?" Alex asks raising an eyebrow.

"No reason." I say happily in a sing-song voice.

"Just don't want any stupid horny guy hurting my girl." Alex huffs and sits down on a stool at the bar.

"You are so odd." I say and turn on the water and start cleaning the dishes.

"Let me help?" Alex says coming to my side.

"Last time you 'helped' " I say putting up air quotes, "You broke three dishes, water everywhere, and you broke my moms favorite mug, resulting in a not so nice conversation with my mother." I complain pointing a soapy spoon at him.

"Just want to help." He says defeated.

"And I just want to get out of this house." I mutter.

"Well we can, that's easy. Just finish up and I'll take you anywhere you want. One thing I can do is drive." He replies happily thinking he came up with a solution. I sigh, knowing he didn't in the least bit understand. Oh well.
