Hi everyone! So I've been working my butt off on this short story called, They Call Him Wolf . It's a modern adaptation of Little Red Riding hood for the #OnceUponNow contest. I would REALLY appreciate if you would go give it a read and tell me what you think! The voting phase starts around June 12th and honestly I haven't worked so hard towards something in a long time and I really want to have a fair shot at it. Unfortunately the contest seems to be based more on popularity so I don't know how far I'll get, BUT I really hope that I get the chance for the judges to read my work!

Anyways, onward.... (yes I'm reading the Classix now!)

I sat on the couch staring at my phone.

It has been two days since KJ has talked to me. Two days!

He usually texted every other second if he wasn't already with me. My hands shook with worry as I held up my phone, looking at the blank screen again and checking to time.

"Liz. Give it a rest, he's probably just busy" Luke shook his head at me, patting my shoulder.
I let out a sigh before Luke came over to sit next to me on the couch. I had driven over to Luke's house about an hour ago and I couldn't sit still. I think I had managed to annoy him by now, but I couldn't stop staring at my phone.

Why hadn't he called, texted, shown up at my door step.

Anything really.

What the hell was going on.

Hours had passed and I was now at home again. I tried my best to clear my head, but here I was. Sitting in my bed staring at me homework and absolutely not wanting to do it. Just as I was about to completly give up, my phone blared out its obniouxous ring tone.

"Hello?"

"Hey babe." Lukes voice drifted through the phone. I smile to myself relaxing a bit,

"perfect timing. I need an excuse to not do homework." I sigh.

"I'll be over in 10." Luke laughed before hanging up. I smile again and push my homework and notebooks to the side.

"George! I'm going out!" I shout through the hall. I hear him shout back an acknowledgment before I walk down the stairs.

"Where you going?" Carter asks once I walk into the living room.

"Luke's picking me up." I say back seeing her sitting next to Jace. I wave to him and give Carter a look.

"So you guys have plans today?" I ask smiling. Carter rolls her eyes at me.

"Of course we do." She replies with a slight glare.

"Mmhm." I mumble back with a smirk before waving and walking out the front door. I sit on the step in front of my house and wait for Luke.

About 5 minutes later his mustang pulled into the drive way.

"Hey babe! Ready for some adventure?" Luke smiles out from his rolled down Window.

"What do you have planned?" I ask him getting into the car. Luke just shrugs and mumbles a 'you'll see' before taking off down the street. With the windows rolled down, the wind was running through the car, the music blaring through the speakers and I couldn't help but smile at seemingly nothing. I needed this, a little normalcy and relaxation.
It was good.

I found my mind drifting off a bit, wondering if KJ was doing alright. It had to be something with his family that was really the only reasonable explanation.
I shook my head before looking over to Luke. He had a content smile laying on his lips, he say comfortably in his seat, one hand on the steering wheel the other on the open window sill. His fingers tapping along to the beat of the music.

It was a sort of vision. To see him so care free and in his element.

We made our way down multiple streets towards downtown. The drive was long but pleasant, singing along horribly to some old jams made the ride perfectly relaxing.

Once we parked I got out and look to Luke. He just waved me to follow him and took down towards a path on the right. A canopy of trees covered the path and the little walkway was lined with multi colored rocks.

We made out way through the cute little path and at the end a small cafe was revealed.
"Cute huh?" Luke nudges me gently.
"Willow told me about it, thought it would make you happy..."

"I love it. I absolutely love it." I smile at him and lean in, hugging him tightly.

He smiles back and squared his shoulders proudly.

Once we found ourselves seated we simply talked over coffee and food. Happily eating and talking our time away.

"This was really nice, thank you Luke. Really. I mean it." I smile across the table at him. He simply nodded and our conversation quickly dropped back into its normal rhythm.

After awhile we ended up walking down another pathway, leading to a park.

"Well I know it's not much, but I know you like places like this so I thought it would make you happy." Luke said before rounding another corner. There was a small house, all opened up tables and chairs on the grass. A record player on one of the tables playing some light jazz, and flowers everywhere.

I found my hand over my mouth in awe. It was adorable.

"I know you act all tough, but I know you've got a soft spot for all this stuff." Luke smiles.

"I'm no good at the sentimental stuff...but I just wanted you to know you mean a lot to me and...well you've been through hell. I just thought maybe this would be nice...you know..." He rambles. I shake my head in delight and give him a big hug.

" I love it. I love it so much."
