Y/N's POV
My heart stopped beating for a what felt like an entire minute. Once it started beating again, it felt slow.
How could I break it to him..?
"I.."
"Y/N? Are you alright?"
"I... I.."
I broke down crying. Yes, I had talked to Georgie in the last month about Doggy but I didn't have to break the news to someone their loved one was.. in essence, dead. There's no cure after all.
"Did.. did something happen to him?" Poley asked.
"He's.. he's.." I couldn't talk. I was on the floor bawling my eyes out. I tried to suppress those feelings, and I stayed strong for a long time.
For Georgie, the kid lost his everything. But, now, it was Poley. We already had each other. I didn't have to control it anymore.
I couldn't control it anymore.
Poley sat down next to me, and hugged me.
"Is he dead or infected?" he turned to me.
"I-Infec.." was all I managed to get out.
Poley started crying with me.
A few hours went by before we slept.
"Y/N? This might be a bad time to ask but.. did you tell him?" Poley looked at me before we turned off the lights.
"I did," I smiled slightly.
Poley turned off the lights, "At least he knows."
"You're right.." I sighed before closing my eyes.
I didn't fall asleep right away, but we were silent after that.
"I hope this is a horrible nightmare and nothing else," I thought.
It may have been real, but the Piggy Infection wound up being more like a nightmare than like reality.
