On Sundays after church my father would take me to pay respects to elders. One of them was Croatian mafia boss Mr. Mickey Gillich. His family was from Dalmatia, Croatia. He was a long time and highly respected Biloxi resident, and owner of several nightclubs, which contained gambling equipment belonging to Mr, Marcellos. He owned the Silver Slipper nightclub on the biloxi strip. When in Biloxi. My father would meet with Mr. Gillich at the Krispy kreme doughnut shop on the beach across from his strip club. He would always make sure I got a free doughnut. One day he gave me a silver dollar. I still have it, among others given to me by elders.
