By 1969 operations had become decentralized and scatttered due to overwhelming pressure from the government. Casino activity was no longer located in businesses along Hwy 90, but instead was done clandestinely out of private homes or driven deep in to the Mississippi and Louisiana swamps accessible only by shallow draft boats. Casinos were now located deep on the swamps outside of Pearlington, Slidell, and Waveland. There were a couple of casinos located on the Islands off the Mississippi Gulf coast, away from the road system. Small but luxurious casinos and brothels complete with roullette wheels, slot machines, and gallons of liquor stayed open 24 hours. Even though 1980's ushered in an era of legal casinos, private casinos still remain hidden deep in the swamps.
