Get ready...

Get readyy.....

GETT READYYYYYYYYYYYYY

It's another update :)

//

(Roman's POV)

It's been a few days since....

the encounter.

My father has made it very clear he wants Virgil's head on a spike. He has guards looking everywhere for him.

At first it was just about finding the boy. But then my father got information from a prisoner he helped "persuade" and now he is looking for something else.

He still wants Virgil, though.

His attention, however, has been turned to something I overheard: "The Order". That's what they call it. I was in the room when the prisoner spoke of it (Father wants me to learn from him and has me sit in on most things he does) and to say that the king was nervous is a serious understatement.

As soon as those words left the prisoners lips, father became ghostly white and looked as though he would be sick. Unfortunately for the prisoner, the king did not keep his promise of letting him live, but instead ordered a nearby guard to execute him...

Right there in the chair.

Father turned to me after the order was given, "Have someone clean this up, then come to my office. We have things to discuss."

I was disgusted. He is a horrible, evil man. Nothing like mother. She was a kind soul who wanted only the best for my brother and I. My father, on the other hand, wanted to groom us to be just like him.

"Looks like another mark on our kill wall. Ey brother? How many does that make this week?" I turn around to see my brother leaning against the wall, twirling a small dagger in his hands. His hair was messy and his facial hair overgrown. He looked at me and smirked, a twinkle in his brownish-green eyes.

"Shut up, Remus." I shot back. I was not in the mood for my brothers antics. He rolled his eyes, pushing himself off the wall with his foot and moved towards me.

"Oh come on, little bro. What's gotten up your butt? Oh! Maybe it was that boy's d-"

"REMUS" he chuckled as my face flushed.

"Chill out, Roro. I'm only playing. The crazed man stalked over to the dead prisoner and looked down at it, "Such a messy way to kill someone. Ya know if it were me I would have simply ju-" I covered my ears.

"That's my cue to leave," Before walking out the door I pointed at a guard and servant, "clean this mess up." They nodded and quickly got to work. I left my brother cackling in the dungeons as I made my way up the staircases to my fathers office. Everywhere I went, staff looked at me. Some with looks of pity, others grimacing.

This was getting tiring. Why can't people mind their own business.

As I turned the corner I was grabbed by the shirt and pulled into a small closet (not that I ever left.. ahem.. anyways). The door was shut leaving me in darkness.

"Hey what the-" My mouth was covered. I struggled against the ASSailant but it was no use.

"Stop moving. I just need to talk to you." The voice whispered harshly. Instantly I stopped moving. The hand was removed from my mouth.

"Remy?" I whispered back. A small light was lit, illuminating the face of my dear friend. He looked tired, bags prominent under his eyes.

"Ay," he moved his hand behind me and tugged on the door handle to make sure it was shut and locked, "I needed to talk to you in private,"

"So you chose a tiny closet?" He sighed and looked down at his feet, chuckling slightly.

"This was the first thing that came to mind. Anyways we don't have much time."

"What do you mean? What do you need to tell me?"

"It's about Virgil." About virgil? What does he want to tell me about virgil? HOW does he know virgil?

"How do you know him?" I asked. He shook his head.

"That's a story for another time. It's unimportant. What is important right now is his safety." Remy gripped my shoulder and looked me in the eye, "You cannot tell the king anything about what you saw him do. You cannot tell him his name. Keep your description short and sweet. DO NOT reveal what he truly is."

"Remy you are not making much sense here..."

"Just. Promise me. DO NOT tell," he paused with a slight look of disgust, "your father about Virgil's magic." How did Remy know about this? This is becoming too much. I pushed his hands off.

"How do you know about that?" He sighed.

"Again not important. Just promise me."

"But-"

"Promise. Me." Never once has Remy asked something of me. Even through all the years we have known each other, this is the first time. Knowing this must be very serious, I nodded. Remy relaxed a little, seemingly relieved.

"Thank you, Roman" He looked at me with a relieved smile, "I uhh... good luck with your father ok? You leave first and I'll leave in a bit so that no one gets suspicious." I nodded again as I turned and opened the door. Peeking out to make sure no one was there, I shut the door and continued my journey to father's office. When I got there, I stood at the double doors. Afriad to knock or open it.

What does he want? What does he want with Virgil?

With a deep breath I raised my hand about to knock.

"Come in," I heard my father say from the other side of the door.
