i know you're somewhere out there, somewhere far away.
"i want you back, i want you back."
as we headed for the earth kingdom to find aang an earthbending teacher, i stared at the moon as we flew on appa.
stray tears found their way onto appa's soft fur, and i didn't bother to stall them.
my family thinks i'm crazy but they don't understand.
"you're all i had, you're all i had."
at night when the stars light up the sky, i sit by myself, talking to the moon....
"trying to get to you..."
in hopes you're on the other side talking to me too.
"or am i a fool who sits alone, talking to the moon?"

we had just recently ended the war and i walked through the streets of ba sing se with the rest of the gaang.
since we're literally heroes, everyone bowed to us as we walked past them.
we walked back into our shared house and i entered my room and laid back on the bed, staring at sky as day turned to night.
'i'm feeling like i'm famous, the talk of the town."
"they say i've gone mad. yeah, i've gone mad."
but they don't know what i know.
cause when the sun goes down, someone's talking back.
yeah, they're talking back.
and night, when the stars light up my room.
i sit by myself, talking to the moon.
"trying to get to you."
i walked over to my window and laid my head on the windowsill.
it was a full moon tonight.
in hopes you're on the other side, talking to me too.
"or am i a fool who sits alone, talking to the moon?"
"do you ever hear me calling?" i asked yue.
i started silently sobbing.
"cause every night i'm talking to the moon."
"still trying to get to you."
i crumbled down and held my head in my hands.
"in hopes you're on the other side, talking to me too..."
i opened my eyes when i saw a bright light and i turned around.
yue's face had taken over the moon and i saw her mouth, "i will always love you." before the moon turned back to normal.
"or am i a fool...who sits alone..."
"talking to the moon.."
i know you're somewhere out there.
"somewhere far away~"
