No POV
"Dedenne use Quick Attack!" Bonnie called as her first move.

"Keep up, use Extreme Speed." Each Pokemon to a single step before launching into a ferocious clash of opposing attacks.

"Dedenne, power up and use Thunder Punch!"

"Lucario Plant your feet and hold it." Both Pokemon stopped moving at super speeds and Dedenne ran towards Lucario with a friend fist full of electricity. Lucario caught the punch with ease but Dedenne took the free hand and attacked with that one instead.

"Full send it!" Dedenne punched Lucario with it's free arm and sent him flying a few feet back.

Ash POV
"Not bad Bonnie, but we won't give up. Lucario let's do this!." Aura came to life around me and Lucario and it was time for round two.

"Bullet Punch go!"

"Dedenne doge it now!" I watched as Dedenne tried to doge, and it did for the first few hits. However Lucario was too fast. Once Lucario hit the first one, there came another and another, and another until Dedenne was down.

"Sorry Bonnie, you did your best." I wast going to expect this battle to be full of more excitement.

"Not yet I haven't." I couldn't help but grin.

"That's my Bonnie, show me your power!"

"Dedenne, let's do this." She pulled out a Z crystal that I had never seen before. "This is what comes from our bond Ash. Watch our power."

She started her pose and then pointed towards the sky. She brought her hand to her chest then balled it into a fist. She looked at me and then punched the ground while getting on one knee.

"Dedenne, use Proton Surge." Was all she said barely in a whisper. Dedenne ran back towards Bonnie and took a stand in front of her as it got engulfed in energy. It jumped into the air and released a powerful wave of electricity that covered the battle field, but other than that, everything seemed the same.

"Lucario use-." Before I had a chance to react an explosion happened right in front of Lucario, luckily he reacted quickly enough and blocked the attack.

"Don't underestimate what you can't see, Ash. Electricity is all around us. It can travel at light speeds, and strike with thousands of volts, sometimes millions. And now so can we. Show then Dedenne."

"Lucario let's go farther, we can still do this." Before me Lucario transformed our bonded form. Considering what happened before, I wasn't afraid. I knew that this time we could handle this power. It wouldn't hurt me. That we could go farther.

"Dedenne use a barrage of Thunder Punches." Each and every hit landed and I felt each and every hit as well. I thought that if I used our battle bond I would be able to keep up but I wasn't even close. Once the barrage of attacks ended me and Lucario collapsed. I just lied there with my eyes open trying to figure out what my next move would be.

"Ash. It was a good battle, that's enough for today." I couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

"Bonnie, let me tell you something." I used every last bit of force still inside me to sit up and I looked at her dead in the eye. "Everything that I've done, all that I've sacrificed, how far I've pushed would all mean nothing if I didn't stand up now. Every step I took, every battle I fought. There was a story behind each and every one of them. A story that has helped me push farther. If you don't believe me, then just watch."

By the time I had stopped talking I had risen to my feet, and Lucario had done the same.

"Watch what happens when we become one."

No POV
Ash closed his eyes as the arena was covered in a bright light. When the light faded
Lucario stood in the middle of the battlefield and Ash was nowhere to be found. But something was odd. Lucario looked different once again. He looked just like his battle bond form, but there were two blades strapped onto his back and holding them together was a steel circle with a golden Z on it. Lucario opened and revealed that his eyes had turned blue and then got into a fighting stance.

Ash POV
I don't know how I did it, but it happened. We had shattered our limits again. Now it wasn't me or him, it was us.

"Dedenne, use Thunder Punch!" Bonnie thought her attack was going to land like all the previous ones did, but this time we could see the attack coming. We raised our hand and stopped the attack dead in its tracks.

"What!? No it can't be… Dedenne use Volt Tackle and end this." I watched as Dedenne charged towards us and we simply stood aside and launched a vacuum wave that hit Dedenne directly.

"Dennneeee!" Bonnie's partner winced in pain.

"Fine, Dedenne please stand up, let's show him our full power. GO!"

"Denne… Dennne!... DEENNNNEEE!" The little rodent charged towards us with an immense amount of power.  We did the only thing we could think and we charged against the attack head on. We engulfed our first in Arua and punched forward making contact with Dedenne and instantly I dozed off.

"Hey Ash, are you alright?" I opened my eyes and looked around feeling disoriented.

"What happened?" I said as I noticed it was Clemont standing in front of me.

"It was a tie Ash, you guys really put up a fight. You too Bonnie." I turned a bit to the side and saw Bonnie walking up to me.

"Thanks for the battle Ash, hopefully next time there will be a victor." She extended her hand and I smiled as I stood and shook it.

"Next time. Hey Lucario." I turned around and saw that Lucario looked normal except he still had the two blades strapped to his back.

"What are these?" He said as he unsheathed the two blades and inspected them.

"I don't know Lucario, but maybe one day we'll find out." I turned back to look at Bonnie. "Mind helping me with something?"

"Sure what is it?"

"I want you to collect some of the most beautiful flowers you've even seen."

"Ooooooh, what's the special occasion?"

"Bonnie…" I placed my hand on her shoulder and gave her a big smile.

"I want to ask Serena to marry me." Her eyes grew huge and she ran off towards the forest so fast it seemed like nothing much of a blur.

"What did you tell?." Clemont came up behind me and a confused expression on his face.

"Oh Clemont my old friend, just you wait."

Serena POV
"Please wake up." I couldn't tell who they were from, but the voice sounded familiar. I slowly opened my eyes and I saw Calem sitting next to me.

"Calem, what are you doing here, where am I, what happened?" There were so many questions going through my head and I needed answers.

"Well, you fell off a small cliff and we brought you here… Serena, the doctors told us you wouldn't be able to walk. I'm sorry I couldn't help you."

"It's alright Calem… you did what you could." I have no idea what came over me, but I felt as if Calem was the only person I needed in my life. I raised my hands and cupped his face and brought him into a kiss. Mid kiss I spoke some words that felt like I meant in the moment. "I love you Calem."

We were cut off by the sound of the door opening and my soul came back to reality. Ash was standing at the door with his hands to his sides, flowers on the floor, and tears rolling down his face. We all stood still and I watched Ash take a step back and then take off running.

"Ash wait!" I tried to follow him but it was pointless I couldn't move. "Not, again. Please."

I felt tears start to run down my face and I did nothing to try and stop them. The truth is I needed to cry.

"Serena, maybe if we-"

"NO… just go away Calem! I just want to be alone right now." Why is it always me that has to do something?
