After the party the days passed without any inconvenience between the girls, none of them commented about the kiss, but Maya couldn't forget the feeling in her stomach when she brushed her lips with Carina's lips. Friday came again and Maya was exhausted from all the work she had done that week, all she wanted to do was eat and lie down on her bed. On her way home from college, she decided she didn't feel like cooking so she would break her diet and get a pizza on the way. When she got home she heard laughter coming from the living room, hearing Carina's laughter, Maya couldn't help but smile, but her smile faded immediately when she recognized the voice of the other person with Carina. She walked over to the living room and came upon Carina sitting on the couch with her legs over Jack's lap as he massaged her calves and she laughed at his stupid jokes. Maya felt a twinge in her stomach, it was the second time that week she had come home to find Jack with Carina.

- Hi, sorry for interrupting whatever this is. She said in a somewhat annoyed tone as she pointed to the two people in the living room. She left the pizza on the dining room table and went straight to her room, not looking around and slamming the door as she went.

Ten minutes later she heard a knock on her bedroom door.

- I'm sleeping. She shouted without moving her head from the pillow.

- I know you're awake. Carina said as she opened the door slightly to look around the room. – You left the pizza in the dining room. She added in a soft tone.

- Yes, I'm not hungry anymore. It's all yours if you want it. She mumbled without looking up. – I'm sure Jack will love it.

- You shouldn't go to bed without dinner. Besides, Jack's already gone. Carina replied.

- Sorry for ruining your night, you didn't have to stop because I was here. Said Maya trying to sound as normal as possible.

- You didn't ruin anything Maya, he was just leaving anyway. Said Carina walking fully into the room.

- So, you and Jack huh? That was quick and you didn't even need to go to that stupid dinner. Maya blurted out in a sarcastic tone, as she sat up to look Carina in the face.

Carina noticed Maya's sarcastic tone and couldn't help but be annoyed by the comment. – Yes, just like you I also know how to play my cards Bishop or do you think that only you can go around hitting on whoever without a problem. You have no right to judge what I do or who I do or don't go out with. She said annoyed and walked out of the room without waiting for a response from the blonde and throwing the door in her path.

The reality was that she and Jack were just friends, Jack had offered to show her some places in the city and Carina happily accepted. Today had been their second day touring the city and Carina was exhausted from all the walking, so when Jack offered to massage her calves she didn't hesitate to accept. She was going to tell Maya why Jack was back at her house, but Maya's childish attitude annoyed her. Besides, she didn't have to explain to her about her relationships.

The next day when Carina woke up Maya had just returned from her run and was making a smoothie. Carina quietly peeked into the kitchen for her morning coffee. The two sat in silence enjoying their drinks, avoiding any interaction at all costs, the two finished their drinks without exchanging a single word or glance.

- Hey Travis what are you doing here? Maya asked surprised to see her friend on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.

- I had the afternoon off so I came to watch a movie with Carina. Travis answered without further explanation.

- So she decided to give her boyfriend a break and now she's using you to distract herself. Grumbled Maya. – Besides, why isn't she here?

- She's in the bathroom. Answered Travis quickly – Boyfriend? What boyfriend? Asked Travis somewhat confused by Maya's attitude.

- You know, she and Jack...

Maya's words were interrupted by a huge laugh from Travis.

- What are you laughing at? I didn't say anything funny. Maya complained.

- Yeah, I just think it's funny that you think Carina and Jack, you know there's something going on between them. I assure you there's nothing there.

- How can there not be? They spend all their time together and the other day I saw them right there on that couch, all affectionate. Maya blurted out trying to sound relaxed but failing completely.

- I swear on my life there is nothing going on between them. Said Travis still laughing his ass off.

- Why are you so sure? Maya asked confused by the boy's reaction.

- Let's just say Jack's not her type. laughed Travis. – Don't tell me you really don't know? Carina likes women Maya, she wouldn't go out with Jack even if she got paid. Said Travis. – I thought your gaydar was better. He added, laughing again.

Maya was shocked at the information she had just received. Part of her was relieved to know that there was nothing beyond a friendship between Jack and Carina. But another part was extremely confused that Maya had been jealous of Jack. Jealous? Maya Bishop had never felt jealous of anyone plus she had no reason to be jealous of Carina. After all, they were just friends, if you could call their relationship a friendship, which mostly consisted of fights over meaningless things.
