James' POV
"And you're fired", Nathan mumbles. What? Was Gabe actually fired? "What did you just say?", I yell at him. "I SAID HE IS FIRED", Nathan yells back at me. I could see Gabe looking at me and then back at Nathan (as if it were to be a ping pong game). "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!", I yell at him. "I'm his boss, I can do whatever I want", he replies. "I won't let you!", I yell. "Why not then?", he asks me. "I JUST WON'T", I yell at him. By now I was angrier than ever. Nathan would kill me if I went to spend time with Gabe instead of doing work (which would only happened if Gabe was fired). "Guys, guys, guys, please calm down", Gabe says. "Why should I?", I ask him. He gives me those eyes. I nod my head. He looks away. So do I (I didn't want to make it weird). Nathan looks at me and then Gabe. Then me. Then Gabe. "Y'all are... dating? Aren't you?", he questions. Me and Gabe look at each other as if we didn't know what he was talking about. It pained me, but I had to. "I don't know what you are talking about, Nathan. You should probably get some rest.", Gabe says as calmly as possible while looking at Nathan. "Rest? Rest! Rest!?! REST!?! GABRIEL GUU I AM NOT RESTING UNTIL I FIND OUT THE TRUTH!!!", he yells at Gabe. "You know the truth, so now you should probably rest", Gabe replies, just as calm as before. "GABE I SWEAR, BY THE END OF THE DAY YOU WILL BE FIRED. STOP TRYING TO LIE TO ME!", Nathan yells at Gabe. Gabe was actually not lying. We were not technically dating... yet. "I'm not lying", Gabe says, tears falling down his face. Nathan runs away. Whenever someone made Gabe cry it killed me. He must of expected me to chase him, but I just stood there in shock. I hug Gabe. He hugs back. "James", he says. "Yeah", I say. "Why did he ask if we were dating?", Gabe asks. "I don't know", I reply. "Are we sus?", Gabe asks. "No", I reply while shaking my head. Gabe goes to his room, probably to take a nap. I take out my phone and text this to Nathan:
Nathan, why do you treat us
this way? We are
your friends, right? Or are we just
your employees. Do you
not actually care about us at all? Should I actually quit
and go to work for Preston? Or should I stay with
you, the guy that obviously hates me. The guy that pays
me to get views. The guy that pays me to get him
subscribers. If you continue to treat me this way,
you might as well give me and Gabe each a raise.
I have the option to quit at any moment. So for
all we know, this might just be the last that I work for you.
I just want to say, use this time wisely.
I hit send and wait for Nathan's response. Five minutes later he sends this:
James, do you think it is easy to deal with you. You
and your dumb boyfriend. If you do then you would
be wrong. It is hard to do my job around here with you
being a baby and Gabe being "protective". If I could,
I would beat you two up. But I know that is not
aloud and do I want to say. That, I am guilty and James,
I will give you and Gabe each a raise. Just because
y'all have to deal with me. But, James, I am still mad
at you. No matter what, I will be mad. I won't fire
Gabe, but I am getting very annoyed so I
just might at any moment. So, James, I just want
to say, be ready. You don't know when I am going
to burst and that I might fire y'all.
Bro. And I thought mine was long! I read it again to better understand it. After reading it twenty times I understood that he is not firing anybody, but in the future he may. I was so relieved. I go to Gabe's room and knock on the door. "Come in", I barely hear someone say from the inside. I open the door and see Gabe laying on his bed face down. "Gabe?", I ask. "Yea James", he replies. "Look at this text", I say as I got o his bed and show him my phone. It takes ima coupe, of minutes to read it, but he does so. "Nathan isn't that poetic", Gabe says. "No, but he seriously sent it to me", I reply. "Stop trying to make me feel better", Gabe says. "I would never lie to you", I tell him. "Yeah right", he says. Now I definitely knew he was in a bad mood. I text Nathan this:
I showed Gabe the text to try making him feel better and yet he doesn't believe that you sent it. Can you send him a text like it?
I wasn't sure if he would answer, but merely 3 minutes later I get a text from him saying ok.
Gabe's POV
James left. Oh, what I would do to just hug him and hug him. I just laid there, imagining me and James watching a beautiful sunset. And then I see him pro- ding. Stupid phones. I pick it up and see a text from Nathan. It read:

Why would Nathan text me this? Leave me alone, I text back. He sends a frowny face. He never sent me texts other then "Tine to get up" or "Gabe I need you to run to the store". Then I get a text from James. It read:
Meet me at the dock at one. I have a surprise and it is fun.
(Say it out loud, it rhymes.)
I guess I am going to meet him at the dock at one.
