Tony - Made a promise

Standing at the top of the tower, you overlooked the dark city. Lights twinkled, shining like little stars on the ground.

"Peaceful, right?"

Turning to your left, you came face to face with Tony. He was stood there, hands clasped behind his back, a grin on his face.

"It was." You mused.

"Aw, that's rude (N/N)."

You rolled your eyes, carefully lowering yourself, you sat on the edge, swinging your legs slightly.

Tony decided to copy you, sitting by your side, his hand brushing up against yours.

"Where you up here Stark?"

"Because you're pissed at me, and I don't like it when you're like this."

"Well go away then." You snapped.

Tony sighed softly, bringing his hand to cover yours, leaning over he pressed a small kiss to the side of your head.

"Not gonna happen darling, not until you're happy."

You huffed, refusing to reply to him.

"Come on, I didn't mean to screw up your mission sweetheart. Your life was in danger, I couldn't let anything happen to you."

You widened your eyes slightly and turned to him.

"What?"

"He had a gun behind his back, you didn't notice. Jarvis alerted me so I had to beat him to it. If I knew he was the only one who could give you answers I wouldn't have acted so rashly."

You sighed heavily and shook your head.

"Why didn't you tell me?" You asked softly.

Tony shrugged and you laughed slightly, leaning to the side, you rested your head on his shoulder, closing your eyes with a smile.

"You're an idiot. But you're my idiot, so it's okay."

Tony laughed lightly and kissed the top of your head, wrapping his arm around you.

"You're mean, you know that? I don't regret what I did. I'll help you fix it in the morning."

"Alright, alright."

You both just sat there, you had no idea that it could have been your last mission. But you were glad you had Tony watching your back, there was no one else you would rather have to protect you.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" You mumbled.

"Shoot."

"Would you always have my back? Even if we broke up or something?"

Tony chuckled slightly and pulled you a little further into his side.

"Even if you were across the world, I'd have you back moron. I promised you that when you agreed to date me."

You smiled brightly, leaning up you kissed his jaw line and went back to looking over the city with him.

"I love you." You smiled.

"Yeah I guess I love you too." He yawned.

Playfully you hit his side making him fake groan in pain.

"I'm kidding!"

"You're lucky I tolerate you more than normal people." You snickered.

"You tolerate everyone you else."

"Eh, just barely. I tolerate you a little more."

The pair of you fell into silence, it was nice. You loved moments like this, nothing to worry about in that moment of time, just you, Tony, and the peace of the city
