It's a few weeks later and Maya is going back to work after loosing the baby. She is feeling a lot better than what she did, Physically and mentally. She walks into work and pours herself a cup of coffee
"Hey! It's great to have you back!" Kelly says smiling
"It's good to be back!" Maya says
"If you ever need to talk just know I'm right here!" Kelly says before he walks away
Maya is in her quarters doing some paperwork when Boden appears at the door
"Ahh Maya! Just the person!" Boden says smiling
"Whats up chief?" Maya asks
"You've got a new candidate starting today! His name is Will Dailey!" Boden says
"Great! I'll be sure to make him feel at home!" Maya says before Boden walks away
It's some time later and the candidate finally shows up
"Hey! Do you know where I could find the squad Captain ?" Will asks
"Oh you must be Will! I'm Cruz!" Cruz says
"Nice to meet you! I heard the captain is a badass! And that he would do anything to save people!" Will says enthusiastically
"He?" Cruz says before Maya walks out
"Ahh! You must be Will! I'm Maya Avery! Your new captain!" Maya says smiling
Will looks her up and down before he recognises her
"Your my squad captain! The one who lost their baby twice? The one who killed a firefighter" Will says
"I can assure you" Maya says before will interrupts her
"I can't work with someone who is that soft! Taking 6 months off for a baby! That you've never even met! That's hilarious! And they expect me to run into a burning building with you!" Will says as he laughs
"Let me guess! You've worked over at firehouse 66?" Maya asks
"Yeah! Obviously! I should have just stayed there! In stead of coming here! And working alongside little miss softie here!" Will says
"Okay! You've made it clear! Get out of my firehouse!" Maya shouts
"What?" Will says shocked
"You heard me! Your done! Now get out before I make you leave!" Maya says as Will angrily storms out
"That was epic!" Capp says enthusiastically
"Oh shut up Capp!" Maya says before walking away
Boden manages to catch up with Maya later on in the shift.
"Care to explain why I've just had Will phone and say you refused him?" Boden asks
"He brought up the baby! And I can't have that! I'm not tolerating it anymore! I got pushed around at my old house! I'm not going through that again!" Maya says before storming away
