"Having fun?" Penny looked over to Charlotte who was coming over to her. It was Saturday. The dreaded day, and Penny was sitting in her chair trying to hide yet again.

"Oh yeah it's great. At least no one has come up to me yet."

"Don't forget your promise." Charlotte reminded her. Penny sighed. She didn't forget.

"I didn't. But I can't be nice to people if they don't come up to me." She answered, smiling slightly. Charlotte shook her head and laughed.

"You're something else you know that?"

"I do. Thanks for reminding me." They both laughed for a second, before Charlotte went to find Isaiah, probably still trying to figure out his Kennedy problem. Penny looked around the room carefully. If she didn't make eye contact with anyone, they would be less likely to come over. But as she looked around, someone caught her eye.

"Carol?" She whispered to herself. And indeed it was. She was playing with Callie, well Carol was telling stories while Callie listened intently.  But while Penny watched the two, she noticed someone in the background.

In the corner, in an armchair, was someone she had never seen before. Chin length brown hair, a beard and blue eyes. His hands were covered with gloves, and he looked wary, and a little bored. He scanned over the room, as if looking for someone. But then his eyes fell on Penny. Penny quickly looked anywhere else, averting her eyes. When she finally looked up again, his eyes were still locked on her. Creepy.

"Penny!" Snapping out of her stupor, Penny looked to the sound of the voice calling to her.

"Hey Carol! How are you?"

"I'm doing pretty good. A tiring few days but it could be worse."

"Yeah Monica said you had work." Penny eyes unwillingly settled in the man again, who was now studying the room.

"Well it's been chaotic, but this makes it better." Carol answered, looking over the room and smiling.

"Carol Carol!" Callie interrupted, running toward the two.

"Hey Callie! What's up?"

"Can you tell me about the airplanes again? Please?" She begged. Carol laughed.

"Of course. Nice seeing you Penny."

"Nice seeing you too Carol." Penny answered, smiling as Callie dragged her across the room. She looked over the room again, smiling as she saw Emma and Shawn playing together, nicely, without any fighting. That rarely happened. She watched them for a little, but she felt eyes on her. Turning, she saw the man again, looking at her. Weird. This guy was full on creepy. Then again, she probably looked the same way to other people sometimes.

"Come on Bucky." Penny heard Carol's voice. It's not like Penny was trying to eavesdrop, it just happened. And besides, it was kinda loud. "You can't just stay in your apartment all day, you need to see people."

"So you thought bringing me around kids would be a good idea?" The man questioned. Penny looked over to the two. The man was still seated in his chair, and Carol was to the left of him, Callie running in circles around her, pretending to be an airplane.

"Bucky. Just give them a chance. You're not going to hurt anyone. I promise you'll feel better by the time we leave." Carol then got pulled away by Callie again, leaving the man, Bucky, Penny thought he was called, to be alone in his armchair. Shaking her head, Penny got up, heading over to Charlotte and Isaiah.

"How's the homework going?" She asked.

"Horrible." Isaiah answered immediately.

"That's because you're not even trying." Charlotte said.

"I am so Char!"

"Uh huh keep telling your self that." They bickered back and forth a bit, before Penny asked.

"Do either of you know that man over there?" She jerked her head ever so slightly to the man sitting in the arm chair.

"Brown hair, beard, looks kinda creepy?" Charlotte confirmed.

"That's the one."

"No I don't."

"Me either." Isaiah answered.

"Huh."

"You know he kinda reminds me of you." Charlotte cut in.

"Me? He reminds you of me?" Penny asked, slightly offended.

"Well, antisocial and intimidating."

"First off that's rude," Penny commented, "second off, he's kinda creeping me out."

"I think you should talk to him."

"Are you insane Char? You literally said he was creepy a minute ago." Penny was in disbelief.

"And then I said he reminded me of you, and plus, remember your promise." Charlotte taunted, raising an eyebrow.

"That was a promise to be nice, not social." Penny shot back.

"You know I agree with her." Isaiah added.

"You too?" Penny asked in disbelief. Well now they were ganging up on her.

"He looks lonely, and if you talked to him, that's being nice, technically that's your promise." He pointed out. Penny glared at the two of them.

"You're supposed to be on my side Isaiah."

"Oh but I can't do that if you don't make me breakfast." He answered teasingly. Penny scoffed, rolling her eyes. She looked back and forth at the two of them, both looking at her expectantly.

"You can't be serious." They just kept looking at her. "Guys!"

"It won't be that bad." Charlotte said, pulling her up. "It'll be good for you."

"Charlotte!" Penny hissed as she was shoved a little closer. There was no response from her friend. "Char! Seriously!" But it was no use. Charlotte had now brought her a couple metres away, and there was no going back. She turned back to glare at the both of them, who gave her innocent smiles. She sighed before slowly walking up to the man. Soon, she was right in front of him. He looked up at her and she froze, with no idea what to do next.

"Uh hi?" The man said questioningly.

"Um bonjour. Comment t'apelle tu?" (Hello. What is your name?) Penny said quickly, before realizing what she had done. When it finally dawned on her, she mentally scolded herself. Of course this guy didn't speak French, now she had to say something to fix it. But as she went to speak, a voice sounded out.

"Bucky. Et quelle est ta nom?" (And what is your name?) Penny was too shocked to speak for a second, before choking out,

"Tu parles le français?" (You speak French?)

"Uh yeah I do. You do speak English right?" He asked quickly, not wanting to make a mistake.

"Oh yeah." She was silent for a second. "Sorry I'm just a little surprised. I didn't expect someone to know French."

"Not a lot of people who know French around here huh?"

"No. It's a plus sometimes though. No one will know what I say." Bucky laughed. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all.

"Penny!" Penny was tackled by Callie, almost knocking her over.

"Woah! Careful there Callie. What's up?" Penny brushed Callie's hair from her eyes.

"Carol said I had to come find you cause she's gonna leave soon." Callie pouted, upset.

"Well did you say goodbye?"

"That she did. I got a super big hug too." Carol had come up behind them, probably coming for Bucky. "You coming?"

"Yeah." Bucky stood up, and walked over to Carol. But before they could walk away, Callie tackled Carol in a hug again. She laughed.

"I'm gonna miss you too. I'll come back soon okay?" She confirmed, letting go of Callie. Callie nodded eagerly, waving as they walked out. At the last second, Bucky turned back, and have a short wave to Penny. Penny gave a small one back, a smile creeping onto her face. Maybe people weren't that bad after all.
