"I need your help." Bucky was now on the phone with none other than Tony Stark, trying to figure out Penny's birthday present.

"Mmhm with what? Y'know I'm kinda busy at the moment." Bucky could hear some scuffling in the background, along with some grunts.

"Sure you are." Bucky rolled his eyes. "Look I just need to you make something for me."

"And what would that be?" Tony asked, and Bucky could hear a crash in the back with a yell of, 'DUMMY!' Ignoring the yell, Bucky explained his plan.
"I dunno Barnes. That's gonna cost you."

"Really Tony?" Bucky sighed, exasperated. "Come on this is really important."

"Is it now?" Bucky could hear the amusement in his voice. "Who is it for? A girlfriend? A wife? You've been away long enough."

"It's not a partner Stark."

"Then who?" He pried.

"I can't tell you that." Bucky snapped back. He didn't want to tell anyone yet. She had just come to live with him, and he didn't want to overwhelm her. Besides, they would definitely try to steal her away from him. Over the phone, he could hear Tony mumble under his breath. Probably cursing.
"Does it really matter? You're going to find out on your own anyways."

"Right you are Barnes." He paused for a minute. Probably for 'dramatic effect', that was Tony after all, before finally exclaiming,
"Fine! But I want to add some things to your arm."

"No way! Last time you touched it, it was slapping me in the face for a week every time I opened the fridge!" He could hear Tony laugh on the other end. "Stark." It was a warning.

"Come on Barnes it was a little funny. But if you want this made, you need to let me tweak the arm." Bucky exhaled sharply, and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Fine." He finally agreed, throwing his hand up into the air. He really needed this present. "But only if you get it done by noon tomorrow."

"That should be -Parker put that down- yeah should be fine. I'll have it there by 10."

"Great."

"No thank you? I'm hurt Barnes." Bucky rolled his eyes.

"Thank you." He said spitefully.

"There we go. You're welcome Bucky Bear." Tony jeered back, knowing how much Bucky hated the stupid nicknames he gave him.

"Don't call me that."

"Mr. Barnes? Hi, Mr. Barnes!" Peter's voice came from the other side of the phone.

"Oh hi Peter." Bucky couldn't help but smile as Peter rambled on, thinking about how Peter reminded him, if only a little bit, of Penny.

"Don't worry Mr. Barnes, I'll make sure Mr. Stark gets your thingy done on time." Peter reassured him.

"Thank you Peter. I'm glad you're making it top priority."

"Bucky?" Penny's voice came from outside his door, as well as a little knock. The door creaked open slightly, to reveal the brown eyes of his daughter.

"Gotta go guys. Keep him in check Peter."

"I will!"

"I'm not-" Bucky hung up before Stark could complain into his ear. Great, now Stark would have heard Penny. And if he knew it wasn't a girlfriend, that's narrowed down the options.

"What's up Penny?" He asked, as she opened the door all the way. Looking at her, he could see something was wrong. "I thought you were sleeping."

"Yeah I was, but uh..." she trailed off, and Bucky could see she was really uneasy. After thinking for a moment, she shook her head, and Bucky could have sworn he'd seen tears in her eyes. "Nevermind. It's alright." She said, voice wobbling a bit. Penny cringed at her voice. Now she sounded weak.
