I was standing in front of the old castle situated in the middle of the forest.
The forest where our parents never allowed us to enter.

Entering this part of the forest was completely FORBIDDEN. Not only by our parents but also by the police of our town.

They said dark and dangerous activities took place here. No one could come out alive.

But if you ask me, well I considered it all to be an elaborate hoax.
It was done primarily to encourage the shady activities that couldn't take place in the town as our town was pretty small and everyone knew almost everyone.

So here I was with my friends standing in front of this old but beautiful palace.
It was covered with green vines and probably wouldn't smell too good if we were to enter. But sill it was a masterpiece.

"Oh my god! This is a masterpiece.", Namjoon confirmed my thoughts and I gave him a small smile. His eyes were twinkling at the sight of the beautiful palace. He loved historical places and this place mesmerized him.

"Took us so long to come visit this place. Ahh we're finally here.", Rose said hugging me. I hugged here back.

"Yes, we literally grew up, moved out from our parents house and became adults. Now that we're free we can come see this hell of a place. Do you even know how many nights I have dreamt about this palace? Surprisingly it looks exactly like the one in my dreams.", I said chuckling.

"Almost all the old architecture is the same in our town. This mansion is the combination of every beautiful piece of art I have seen till date. It's a shame this was abandoned and left to rot.", Namjoon said sighing.

"Guys, I'm also excited to enter but ughh I'm not so sure about this now.", Hobi's voice trembled while speaking.

"I too feel this ain't a good idea anymore." Lini said shrugging. Worry etched her face.

"Didn't we already decide that no will chicken out?", I said angrily.
"We walked a long distance and waited years to come here. If anyone yad any problem you could have said it before. No one was forced to come here."

"I know Y/N. Calm down. We won't chicken out.", Lini said giving me a half smile which didn't reach her eyes. I knew she was scared.

"Okay, you and Hobi can wait outside. If anything bad happens you guys come and rescue us.", I said winking.

"That sounds like a good idea." Both Hobi and Lini agreed.

"So shall we enter?", Namjoon spoke eagerly. He almost reached the main door of the castle.

"Yes! Let's do this", I shouted in the air and held Rose's hand joining Namjoon.

Upon entering the place, the dust surrounding almost blinded us in the process. We coughed and tried to clear the air with our hands.

When the sight cleared the first thing I noticed was the huge chandelier in the centre of the room. It was made of glass and looked weirdly clean. It was an entricate piece and probably will cost a fortune. I was in awe of it.

"Wow, there's a freaking library!", Rose shrieked from behind me and took the stairs leaving me and Namjoon downstairs.

"Well she's pretty excited.", Namjoon said laughing.

"You know how she gets after seeing books. And this is a whole ass library", I said admiring the walls of the mansion.

"Okay it's been 10 mins already and nothing actually happened. So let's just call Hobi and Lini inside?", Namjoon asked me.

"Yeah, please do. No one should miss on this beauty". Namjoon left me and went out the door. Seeing his retreating back I faced the centre of the huge room which was probably the living room.

"Do mansions have living rooms", I said loudly to myself.

I spotted some paintings which were hung on the walls. Upon closer inspection I found out that those were portraits and not paintings.

Portraits of people. Interesting!

I took my flashlight out and flashed it on the first panting. A bat sat on the painting upside down which startled me and I led out a loud scream.

"Are you alright Y/N", Rose asked me. Oh gosh I was so loud that she could hear me from so far. I face plamed myself.

"Yeah, it was just a bat.", I assured her.

"Okayyyy sweetheart", she responded back.

'Sweetheart?'. That was odd. Rose hated to use terms of endearment. Guess she was lost in her world of old literature and romance.

Shining the light on the paintings, I tried to see the people in them. They technically lived in our town long long back, I might have heard about them.
But the portrait looked extremely worn down. Even the names were not visible. The metal plate was all rusted.

I shined the light on the second painting and then on the third. Every painting was in the same condition. Water probably got to them and destroyed them.

That was until I saw the fourth painting. It was in the middle of two paintings which were in the same terrible condition as the ones before them.
But surprisingly this one was in perfect condition. The painting had withstood the test of time and looked as good as new. Even the frame was intact, shining perfectly. It looked like it was made of gold.

Moonlight cascaded directly on the painting from an open window illuminating it. I checked out the nameplate at the base of the painting and it said Jeon Jungkook.

'Jeon Jungkook?' Have heard of this name before? Discarding that thought my eyes trailed towards the portrait.

There stood a handsome man, wearing a long dark coat with a red robe. The robe was laced with golden accents.
His shiny black hair was sleeked back to perfection.

His eyes were doe like but looked fiercely at me. Almost glaring at me. He looked too real.

The man in the painting was a beautiful piece of art just like this castle

The man in the painting was a beautiful piece of art just like this castle.
So intricately crafted. I was mesmerized by his beauty. He looked just like the man of my dreams.

'What stupid things you're thinking Y/N', I hit myself in the head for getting these thought.

But I couldn't take my eyes off of him. And it seemed he too couldn't. His eyes which looked fierce now looked as if they were longing for something.

Longing for someone.
