The Prologue: Tragedy Beginning

"Oh my God, I can't believe you actually did this!"
Emily whisper-yelled as Jess placed the turned around note that Mike had written on the kitchen island. Jess shushed her, laughing along.
"Don't you guys think this is a little bit cruel?"
Sam said an apologetic look on her face.

Josh, Hannah and Beth; three of your friends, had invited you, Sam, Jess, Emily, Mike, Matt, Chris and Ashley up to their family's cabin for the weekend. You'd all accepted and so a weekend of fun and relaxing had begun.

Yeah well, fun and relaxing until Jess and Emily decided it was a good idea to pull a prank on Hannah. Hannah, you see, had a huge crush on dear old class president Micheal Munroe. That would be fine on it's own but Mike was currently dating Emily.

To be honest, Hannah had been making a few moves on Mike as of recent and that isn't right but you didn't think she deserved to be pranked for it. You understood where Em and Jess were coming from but this just didn't feel right.

Yeah...I mean...It's not really her fault she has a crush on Mike."
Emily turned to you, shrugging her shoulders a bit.
"Well, yeah, but she's making moves on my man."
"Mhm, I'm just looking out for my girl Em!"
Jess did a quick boop motion towards Em and you before turning on her heel and walking upstairs.

Mike followed after them.
"Hey Em, I'm not anyone's man."
You, Ashley, and Matt followed suit; listening to their conversation.
"Whatever you say darling!"
Em called, practically skipping upstairs.

You didn't quite understand how you'd gotten roped into the plan. You could've just stayed downstairs with Sam and Beth, but the peer pressure had gotten too much for you and you'd agreed to the plan.

As you got into position in the guest room of the lodge, you thought over the plan. Okay so, Hannah'd read the note downstairs saying that Mike wants to meet her upstairs in the guest room. When she arrived, Mike'd convince her to strip and Matt'd catch it all on camera. Then you'd all come out and reveal the prank.

You shut the door of the closet you and Matt were hiding in. He retreated to the back so he had enough room to film the room. You spared a glance at him before focusing on the door. It just didn't feel right. You'd always been loyal to your friends and to do this to Hannah now...

You didn't get more time to dwell on it though as the door opened and a very excited Hannah walked in with a candle.
"Mike? I got your note."
Mike stood in the middle of the room, doing his best not to smile.
"Hey Hannah."

Maybe you should drop this now and just reveal yourself... No, that'd make things worse. You kept in place, listening to Hannah and Mike talking.
"Maybe we should start with some making out..."
Mike motioned with his hands.

And then, much to everyone's shock, Hannah begun to unbutton her shirt.
You shifted around a bit, covering your mouth with your hand.
"Oh hell yeah..."
You heard Mike comment.

It took all your willpower not to bust out of the closet.
"Oh my God she's taking off her shirt..."
Emily giggled, Jess starting to laugh along with her. They'd blown your cover now.

"W-What..? Guys?!"
Hannah desperately tried to cover herself even though she hadn't even taken off her shirt yet, wrapping her hands around herself. You looked at Matt to see him end the recording. He pushed the door of the closet open and you got out. Ashley, Emily and Jess did the same.

"Hey Hannah."
"You...You guys..."
Your heart leapt to your throat at that. Oh shit...Hannah seemed really upset...

"Sorry, Hannah it was just a-"
"Hannah..."
"Sorry Hannah..."
Everyone talked over each other at this point, trying to calm Hannah's distress. Panic arose in your chest.

"Hannah hey..."
You looked behind Hannah to see that Sam had arrived and was now surveying the situation in horror. Hannah herself looked like she was about to cry and without warning she suddenly bolted out of the room.

"Oh God...Hannah!"
Sam ran after her, quickly followed by you, and then the others.
Everyone called after Han.

Downstairs, much to your immediate terror, Hannah ran out of the front door and into the cold.
"Oh shit! Hannah no come back!"
You yelled after her as you went out into the snow.

Everybody was outside now, looking at Hannah's form disappearing into the shadows of the mountain. Nobody said anything for a second and you all stood in the cold.

"Guys there's someone outside the lodge- Wait- Where's my sister going?"
Beth, Hannah's twin. A very frantic Beth, stood next to you now.
"Uh...We did something bad."
You said, worry evident in your voice. You were briefly aware that Beth had said there was someone outside but you didn't care for that right now.

"She just can't take a joke!"
Jess yelled.
"Yeah. It was just a prank Han!"
Emily cupped a hand around her mouth, calling out into the snow.

"What?! You guys are jerks you know that?!"
Beth yelled at all of you. In a split second, she'd booked it for the forest.

This wasn't right. You had a horrible feeling about this whole ordeal.
There were two things you could do but you'd better act fast or it might be too late.

Option 1: Run after them. What if something bad happens to them? Plus this is your chance to make things right.

Option 2: Stay at the lodge. This could make things worse. Sure, something bad might be happening to them but you might have to put your own life on the line if you run after them.
