Rose got up and quickly dressed in a short denim skirt and a tight fit black and white polka dot blouse. She put on her black and white converse and done her makeup. She brushed her hair and walked out the door.
She went to the convenience store and got herself a lollipop and a Pepsi- cola. As she was waiting in the queue to get served, she looks out of the window. Ace pins a younger boy to the ground, Eyeball laughing. Instead of helping the boy, she waited till the boys left and she walks outside before the younger boys would leave
''Next time punch their teeth out'' she walked past them.
She walked back to the house. She needed to wake up Gemma.
She went to Gemma's room and knocked on the door ''Gemma. Time to get up''
She heard a mumble through the door. She sighed and walked in ''Gemma, time to get up'' she opened her curtain.
''Five more minutes'' she groaned and turned away
''Fine well if you miss those games of pool then don't blame me''
''Fuck!'' Gemma yelled and rushed out of bed, trying to get her clothes
Rose laughed ''What time is it'' Gemma said while looking for her things
Rose heard a knock on her door. ''It's my ride'' she smirked '' Have fun'' she yelled as she grabbed her Lollie and Pepsi and opened the door
''Hey Ace'' she smiled and shut the door behind her
''Hey dollface'' he replied and they got in the car
He started the car and started to drive. Rose looked at him. He was gorgeous. Icey blue eyes, blonde hair, muscly arms, his side profile. Everything. He was perfect
''Why you staring dollface'' he smirked, he didn't have to look at her to know she was staring
Rose rolled her eyes ''Do you have a lighter'' she asked
He put his hand in his pocket and passed it to her ''Thanks'' she said and lit her cigarette. She handed the lighter back to him.
Ace parked the car. Rose jumped out and opened her Pepsi and took a sip. She followed Ace to the Cobras ''Hey'' she greeted everyone. They nodded or greeted back in response
Ace sat down at the back of the trailer. Rose sat at the side. Her legs dangled down at the front. Vince and Eyeball were having a debate about the most trivial things and Billy was looking under his car. Rose left her lollipop and Pepsi on the truck and jumped off next to Billy
''What's wrong with the car'' she asked
''It's making a weird noise'' he replied
Rose opened the bonnet and looked at the pistons. She then looked at the exhaust. Ace watched her while chewing on his toothpick.
''Looks like you might need a new engine'' she said
The boys looked at her. Rose rolled her eyes ''Your pistons are not moving right and your exhaust will start spitting soon. Have a look if you don't believe me''
Ace jumped off the trailer and had a look then smirked ''It seems we have another mechanic here boys''
Rose rolled her eyes playfully and smiled 'I ain't a mechanic. But I know the basics''

After a while, the boys started to warm up to her, except for Vince who was still angry that she had embarrassed him the day before. The boys were having a beer, there was one left
''Get me a beer woman'' Vince sneered at Rose
Rose looked at him and smiled calmly. She got up and took the beer and opened it
''Here'' she said
He reached out to take it but she poured it all over him ''I am not your slave nor your woman'' she smirked as all the boys laughed except Vince
He cursed and got up and looked for something to clean himself with
Eyeball grinned ''You really don't take any shit, do you''
Rose smiled and shook her head
She knelt and tied her shoelace. Then she stood up ''I gotta go, looking for a job''
Ace raised his eyebrows. He didn't like the sound of that when Thomas was after her ''Where'' he asked
''Irby's''' she replied. ''See you guys later'' she walked off. Ace followed after her
''Get in the car'' he said ''I'll drive you''
''You don't have to'' she smiled
''I wanna'' he mumbled and got in the car. She followed after him

It was a quiet ride to Irby's. He parked and let her out
''Thanks, Ace. See you later'' Rose smiled. He muttered bye and left
She walked to Irby's and went to the bartender
''Hey are you the owner of this place'' she asked
''Yes, why'' he asked
''I'm looking for a bartending job. I have plenty of experience'' she said
''What have you done'' he raised a brow
''I worked at my uncle's bar before I moved. I know a lot about cocktails and stuff too'' she added
Irby thought for a minute. He really needed an employee. It was hard to run this place on his own.
''Make a martini cocktail. Let's see how good you are''
''With pleasure sir'' she smiled and went behind the bar
She grabbed the gin and vermouth and put them in a mixing glass with ice cubes. She then stirred it and poured it into a martini glass. ''Do you want a lemon, olive or onion with it?'' she asked
''Olive'' he replied
She put the olives in and handed the drink to him. He took a sip
''What do you think'' she asked
He nodded ''You got the job'' Rose smiled
''You earn 8 dollars an hour. Doesn't include tips. We'll sort out your shifts tomorrow. You start next week''
Rose smiled ''Thank you so much''

She got home and knocked on Gemma's room
''Yeah''
She went inside ''I got a job'' she said excitedly
Gemma smiled ''So did I. I'm working in a cheese factory''
''I thought you were doing bets at the bar''
''I got bored. They were too drunk to play. So I got a job PLUS they give us free cheese'' Gemma yelled
''I work at Irby's. Starting next week'' Rose said.
They both bought themselves a drink to celebrate
