More the Merrier

Abe had rushed home as quickly as he could, getting through the water faster than he thought he ever had. He skipped the idea of using the tubes altogether, too excited and jittery to stand still and let the tubes move him. Creatures were stunned as he zipped through the water, barely missing them as he went by. What could have him in such a hurry, they wondered. The answer to that of course was his mate and her probably making her own way to their apartment, to prepare for the excitement ahead.

Abe let out a sigh of relief when he finally reached the apartment, making himself dizzy as he jetted up to their floor and took his key out his bag. He cursed himself as he wrestled with the keys, which was a sight to see since he only had one, and tried to fit it in the key hole. There was so much they had to get ready for, Valo's family would be here to help assist when the time came to lay the eggs and Abe still wasn't sure if it was considered impolite to not have refreshments ready for them. Even though the laying of their eggs was the most important thing to him, he still wanted to make a good impression on her siblings. He had yet to meet any of them and didn't want a repeat of her parents introduction.

Abe inserted the key and turned it, ready to pull the door open, But as he took the nob into his hand, he felt it shift and turned underneath it. He snatched his hand back, watching as the door began to open. Was Valo home already, he would have to give her a good talking to if she had moved so quickly to get here. But when the door opened, he was not happy to find not find his wonderful mate, but a male Cecaelia. Anger that Abe had no idea he could muster, rose within him as the cecaelia turned to look at him. What was he doing in their home, was Valo inside, had he hurt her and their eggs? New feelings started to bubble inside Abe as he started down the male with darkening eyes as he felt a need he'd never experienced or acted on before. The need to protect his territory and mate.

Before the male could fully turn to see him, Abe grabbed him by his wrist and twisted it under his gloved hand. The cecaelia let out a yelp as Abe used his surprise to his advantage and pressed all his weight against him, slamming his face into the door. Abe pressed his knee into the wiggling creatures back, pulling back hard on the arm in his grasp.

"What are you doing in my home," he questioned, listening for any signs of Valo. "Where is Valo, if you've hurt her I swear I'll-"

"Oh my goodness Abe"!

The voice made him turn and he was shocked and relieved to see it was Ishani, Valo's mother. A hand raised to cover her gaping mouth and eyes wide. Surprisingly, as soon as her eyes flickered to the creature in Abe's grasp, her shocked expression was dropped and her hands were on her hips.

"Now Mato, what have you done now," she asked, smirking. Abe cocked his head to the side, wondering what she was talking about, why wasn't she as worried about this intruder as much as he was?

"Mom, I'm the one pressed against the door," the cecaelia chidded, struggling some more. "Why don't you ask the big blue dude why he attacked me"!

"Be quiet," Abe interrupted, ready to question the male further, until something clicked. "Wait a moment...did you just say mother, as in-"

"What's going on out here," another woman's voice joined. Soon after, a female Cecaelia emerged by Ishani's side, gasping as her black eyes landed on Abe. It was strange, though they were not the same as his Valo's, they were very similar. He could admit, now that he was closer, he noticed the many similarities the male shared in the face with his mate. "Mom"!

"It's alright," Ishani chuckled. "Maybe your father was right and we should've called ahead".

The male finally stopped squirming under Abe's hands. "Wait-does this mean this is the guy"?
