Once upon a time long ago
A fisherman caught a golden fish,
But it was a unique one
"Please leave me, I'll grant you a wish."

The fisherman said, "I must think
Carefully about this opportunity."
He went to his wife who was
Sitting in a small hut of the city.

He told her the story of the golden fish
And she exploded with anger,
"Go and ask her to give us food.
Or we'll die here of hunger."

He went and asked her for some food
She said, "Go home and check!"
And when he reached home he saw
Food from the front door to the back.

They both are well and then
His wife started again,
"Go and ask her for a house now
We're living here like some insane.

So he asked again and got
A house luxurious and fit,
And then his wife demanded to get
A throne for the queen to sit.

And a palace very beautiful
And some servants very nice,
But the fisherman knew that
Being much greedy isn't wise.

So he went to the fish and told
"Oh, golden fish of great powers,
Please make my wife realise this
She wants some mansions and towers

Now he went home and checked
Her wife was sitting sadly,
In Her old little and poor but
Which was mended very badly.

She realised that she was being
Greedy and that was bad,
With some food and a shelter
She should have been glad.

So at last the fish gave them
A perfect house to stay,
Food to eat and water to drink
For their life to smoothly pass away.
