D-Day

Park Sunghoon's POV

Days went by so fast. Too fast that I don't feel mentally prepared for the confession I am going to do in just hours from now.

The club day has come. The school's quadrangle is packed with students who started roaming around for extra booths, mainly food and beverages and activities are in there.

Academic clubs have it in their respective classrooms.

While the extra curricular ones are on the grounds, positioned in their respective spots.

For our club, we are to perform on the stage provided near the quadrangle. We are now backstage, checking and making rounds of practice before the night comes, which will be our performance.

For now, the club members are just randomly playing music, asking requests from students who would like to hear from them

"Are you nervous?" I felt a pat on my back.

"Yeah" I let out a breath as I waited with Heeseung backstage

"Don't be." Heeseung gave me an assuring smile before going back to his place to practice playing his guitar

"Yah! I'm grabbing food from the other booths, do you guys want some too?" Jay called us from quite afar

"Yes please!" Heeseung raised his hand, as if asking a waiter

"I'll pass. I guess I can't take in food right now" I said as I held on to my stomach, feeling the nervousness I have been feeling for days.

When the officials officially announced the annual club day, students from different grade levels also started to roam around.

Noon came, and we all gathered backstage, already getting ready to start the performance.

"Don't eat too much, we still have to dance really hard later" Jay instructed his fellow club members in the Dance Club

They just nodded and continued consuming their food

"And you, good luck for later" Jay patted my shoulder

I gave him a nervous smile before eating a spoonful of rice.

We aren't going public for the confession, it is something special that only me and Sunoo can share.

Later, when the sun goes down, I'm coming to you.

Once the host turned her mic on, loud cheers from the audience followed. You can hear them cheering names we couldn't recognize due to them screaming at the same time. It's going to be crazy.

As expected, a lot of students came, the heat of the afternoon adding up to everyone's hype to the upcoming performances.

"Okay, okay, everyone, remember to just do your best, just like what we practiced. Put a smile on your faces, and make your movements big!" Jay clapped to get everyone's attention

"Yes! Fighting!!" Everyone agreed and formed a circle to cheer our club

"Now, for the awaited collaboration of the Dance and Glee Club, may I present to you first, the Dance Club to perform a number of performances that will definitely match the afternoon's heat!" The host energetically exclaimed as Jay and his group went out. The cheers went louder as the music started.

I peeked from outside and coincidentally, I saw Sunoo at the very first row, jumping, dancing and singing along with the music.

I started laughing at him because of how cute he looked.

"Yah, what are you laughing at?" Jake asked, probably staring at me weirdly from behind

"Nah, good things aren't meant to be shared, especially if that good thing is just for my eyes only" I looked at them and saw Hee and Jake looking at each other, questioning what I just said, probably cringing.

"Whatever Hoon, do what makes you happy" Heeseung just shook his head and went back to using his phone

I watched Sunoo from the backstage again and saw him and Riki shaking Jungwon while pointing at Jay, probably teasing him.

Ah, I have to get this filmed.

I brought out my phone to video the moment. He looked so happy, his eyes disappearing into crescents as he smiled. How he looked so tiny as he danced, how he screamed to cheer on the dancers just made my heart flip

Gosh, why can I only see this now?

Not noticing the time, I suddenly went back to reality and stopped the video.

Jay and the other dance club members went back in, cheering loudly at their performance.

"You guys did great! Congrats!" I greeted them one by one as they entered.

"You guys, there will just be a break, your performance will be up next" Jay announced at the backstage

The Hee and Jake greeted Jay as well, congratulating him for the successful performance

"Whooh! That felt intense! It's been a while since I felt that" Jay said and drank his water down.

"We will be back after an hour, you guys can continue going to other club booths and just come back. Remember to save your energy!" I heard the host announced as well as collective "aww's" from the audience

I took a seat farther away from the team. I opened my phone and played the video of Sunoo I took earlier

"I hope to make him happy and smile like this too later..." I thought.

Suddenly, determination came over me, already excited to perform after an hour.
