Lily's P.O.V

*Time Skip*

I felt like I was finally breathing again. Harry, Ron and Hermione had managed to escape Malfoy Manor. I weeped into James's shoulder mourning Dobby's death and didn't watch the scene in front of me. When I stopped crying, they (including Griphook) were getting ready to steal the Horcrux from Gringotts. Hermione transformed into Bellatrix Lestrange and they all apparated away into Diagon Alley. The suspense haunted me. I was worried. Really worried about what was going to happen. Everything was from Harry's perspective. We saw what he saw. The whole time I was shaking. Anxiety had taken over. James wrapped his arms around my torso. Everything flashed before my eyes. It was going way too fast. Since when did Harry know how to do the Imperius Curse? They made it to the Lestrange's Vault and it felt like they were going to find it and be safe. But of course everything had to go completely opposite to what I thought. Griphook betrayed them and I screamed when they jumped onto the dragon and flew into the sky.

The sun slipped lower in the sky, which was turning indigo; and still the dragon flew, cities and towns gliding out of sight beneath them, its enormous shadow sliding over the earth like a giant dark cloud. Every part of Harry ached with the effort of holding on to the dragon's back. "Is it my imagination," shouted Ron after a considerable stretch of silence, "or are we losing height?" Harry looked down and saw deep green mountains and lakes, coppery in the sunset. Lower and lower the dragon flew, in great spiraling circles, honing in, it seemed, upon one of the smaller lakes. "I say we jump when it gets low enough!" Harry called back to the others. "Straight into the water before it realizes we're here!" They agreed, Hermione a little faintly, and now Harry could see the dragon's wide yellow underbelly rippling on the surface of the water. "NOW!"

I grabbed onto James's hand. My mind was muddled. I still haven't processed what had happened a few moments before. They all landed in the river and I prayed that they would stay out of trouble for a few nights at least. But my prayer wasn't answered because here they were hiding from Death Eaters at Hogsmeade. Abeforth saved them and they met up with the rest of the Hogwarts students which was a relief. I could tell Harry was happy to see Ginny once more. Harry went with Luna to find the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw and on the way they met the Death Eaters. I was gripping James' arms tightly as I watched everything unfold. I knew Voldemort was near and he was coming to get Harry. McGonagall was gathering everyone who was of age to fight when Voldemort's cold voice boomed from ahead.

"I know that you are preparing to fight." There were screams amongst the students, some of whom clutched each other, looking around in terror for the source of the sound. "Your efforts are futile. You cannot fight me. I do not want to kill you. I have great respect for the teachers of Hogwarts. I do not want to spill magical blood." There was silence in the Hall now, the kind of silence that pressed against the eardrums, that seemed too huge to be contained by walls. "Give me Harry Potter," said Voldemort's voice, "and they shall not be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave the school untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded. You have until midnight."

It was dead silent in the Great Hall. You could even hear a pin drop if there was one. Everyone's eyes seemed to be trailed on Harry. No one had the guts to do anything for him until a Slytherin Girl stood up and yelled:

"But he's there! Potter's there. Someone grab him!"

Everyone stood up and I assumed they were going to grab Harry but instead they faced all the Slytherins. I felt overwhelmed with emotions as all the Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws all stood up for him. Soon all the students filed out and the Aurors announced their plan. Harry almost forgot about the Horcrux but he quickly figured it out. We watched as Harry pleaded with the Grey Lady for information. Hermione and Ron had managed to destroy another Horcrux and the three of them set off for the Room of Requirement. I sincerely prayed that everything would go fine and there would be no trouble but my guts told me I was wrong. That there was something that was going to happen, either good or bad. Everything was going fine until Malfoy and his friends showed up. Harry almost lost the Diadem and I was surprised and very angry that the Death Eaters had taught students to use the 3 Unforgivable Curses. The boy called Crabbe had conjured some cursed fire and they were all running for their lives. Even the boy himself couldn't put it out! Who teaches someone a curse but doesn't teach them how to undo it? IDIOTS! That is the only time I will say a bad word I promise. They made it out safely and they were fine. Malfoy and his friend Goyle slumped against the wall of the corridor but the boy Crabbe unfortunately didn't make it.
