Dawn almost died, yet by some miracle, she survived a four-story fall. For her surviving meant ending up on a hospital bed in a coma hooked up to too many machines but she was alive.
Love didn't like hospitals, which is why without talking to Dick she hands him a plant to help with Dawn's healing. In finding out that he was going to leave Rachel after he promised he wouldn't Love was too mad at him to say anything but that doesn't mean she was going to leave without going out to search for Rachel.
Sitting on the hood of the car that almost ran her over years ago Love waited for Dick as she plays with the end of her burgundy sleeved sweater
"Are you still mad at me?" Dick asks walking up to her making Love look up at him no emotion in her face
Love only stands up and walks over to the passenger's side of the car waiting for him to unlock the car. Taking that as his answer Dick walks over to the driver's side and unlocks the car ready to drive away
Driving out of the hospital and into the streets Dick speaks up, "I got a call. There was an intruder at the Roth crime scene. She assaulted several officers and security cameras caught her leaving with a girl matching Rachel's description at a gas station. She left behind a body"
Deciding to break the silence Love keeps her eyes on the road when asking, "Who was she?"
Dick takes his eyes off the road to look at Love's side profile before looking back at the road and answering, "All I got was a description, African-American female, magenta hair and maybe six-foot-tall"
"Hard to miss, then," Love mumbles deciding to change the radio station rather than continue to look at the empty road in silence

When they arrive at the gas station, they knew they were in the right snowy place because of the cop cars, firefighters, and coroner van. Not to mention the patch of char at the side of the gas station
Getting out of the car Love was met with an instant whiplash of freezing air. While Dick showed an officer his badge she crossed her arm doing her best to stop shaking so her body can assimilate to the cold temperature
The entrance of the restroom looked blown up which was something both Dick and Love were no strangers to. The coroners zipping up a body is what took them by surprise because the body was pitch black burnt to a crisp, no skin leaving mainly charred bones.
At the sight of the body Love whispers, "Fuck"
The coroners don't say anything, instead nod their heads and finish zipping up the body bag before moving the stretcher over to their van. Love pretending to be a cop wasn't too hard since they had only asked Dick for his ID and after seeing his left the two alone. Meaning walking into the gas station main office wasn't too hard but that doesn't stop Dick from looking around the room before sitting at the chair in front of the computer. Love sits on the side of the desk facing the door keeping an eye on the hallway watching out for anyone who might catch them
