Chapter -7 Appointments & Disappointments

Prakash and Kalaiselvi was disappointed not to find Chitra and Vijay in the dinning table for the breakfast. They got informed that Chitra and Vijitha took the stranger girl to hospital for check-up from their maid.

"Where is Vijay?"

Prakash's question was directed to his son, Kartik who was sitting across from him. Prakash knew Vijay won't hide anything from Kartik and same goes for his son. They both are the crime in partners of their house.

Karthik knew this question will come to him in the dinning table. Eventhough he had not seen Vijay in the morning he knew that his brother will come to him. He decided to skip the breakfast but one message from Vijay made him to abort his mission of skipping the food. Karthik looked at his father and sighed.

"I don't know dad", Karthik replied and got up from the table.

"Mom, Dad I am leaving to the hospital", Karthik said and left the place leaving behind an anxious trio behind. When Karthik came out, he was greeted with a sight of his happy brother playing with the baby in their lawn and left for the hospital in his car. Karthik decided to talk with Vijitha in the hospital about the stranger girl, his brother brought home.

Kavitha was sitting in the waiting hall of the hospital along with Vijitha. She don't know how she was feeling exactly. She don't know whether to feel sad for the loss of her husband or to feel happy that a part of him is growing inside her. A fresh set of tears rolled down her cheeks. Vijitha gently squeezed Kavitha's hand and asked her to stop crying with a smile.

Vijitha was helpless. When they entered the hospital, her mother left Kavitha in her care. Vijitha took Kavitha to lab and finished all the formalities and also she noticed the distressed Kavitha. 'This can't be helped. She lost her husband and came to know that she is pregrant', Vijitha thought to herself and sighed.

Kalai and Vanitha was sitting in their living room discussing about the stranger girl Vijay brought home. They learned her name as Kavitha from one of their maids. Though Vanitha and Kalai loved Chitra, they feel jealous of Chitra at times like this. Because they depend on Chitra for their decision making. Many times Chitra will grant their wishes but sometimes she decline their wishes too. Though Prakash is looking after the business, Chitra is the final authority for making any decision.

" This is not fair Kalai", Vanitha started with a sigh.

"Yes, Chitra Anni(Sister-in-law) should have asked about our opinion before taking that girl into our home", Kalai added with disappointment.

"Can we do something regarding this?", Kalai questioned.

Vanitha looked at her Sister-in-law and said,

"Do you think we have a choice?".

They both nodded No, sighed and left to the living room to carryout their remaining works.

Sekar was pacing in his room. He was worried about his mother's reaction when he said about the missing documents. He don't know much detail about those documents but what he knew is that those documents are important for his mother. He was determined to find those documents. His temper reached peak when he remembered what his brother had done.

"Sekar"

Sekar stopped when he heard Mahesh's voice calling him. He signalled him to come inside his room. He also noticed the tired face of his brother. He was not willing to push his brother beyond his limit.

" Don't stress yourself Mahesh. We can search after finishing the formalities at home", Sekar said.

"But Sekar we are in big trouble", Mahesh said with a sigh and collapsed into the nearby couch.
