Thank you so, so, so much for reading this story. Thanks to all of you who are reading this right here, when you could have left ages ago.

This story means a lot to me. I've said that too. Last year in lockdown I got this idea for a story, and started writing just little ideas for it in the notes app on my phone, and then took it from there.

I had no idea how much I DIDN'T plan out until I actually got to writing this haha.

Another Life by Lucas & Steven (feat. Alida) is really fitting the mood right now.

It's nearly 2:30 am.

What exactly do I write about here?

If you see anything historically innacurate, or anything innacurate with the Italian lanugage or culture or Sicilian language (or Norwegian in that last chapter), or anything else spelling/gramatically wrong, tell me. Help me learn where I get things wrong.

Writing this story has definitely dragged me right back down into the Newsies fandom. But I'm happy about that. I love Newsies. I just got distracted from it for some time.

After I publish this page, I'm watching 1992 Newsies to celebrate--well, at a reasonable daylight hour, that is. And if I have time, maybe sneak in Livesies. But 92sies is a priority. Also? I'll be taking a break from Wattpad. I'll check in every now and then throughout the next few days, write back to comments, read some fanfiction, but real soon... *Robin Williams Genie voice* Iiiiiiiiiiiiii'mmmmmmm OUTTA HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe in the summer I'll write. Or maybe I won't have my laptop with me. So, either you'll hear from me sometime in the summer or it'll be total temporary ghost town after June 21st. In other words, don't expect any set time for me to start a new story.

But I will start a new story sometime.

I'm so dang excited for my next story. I would tell you all about it...but I want you to be surprised when it comes. I will say this: it will be like absolutely no other Newsies story you've ever read. And my writing style will once again change.

Now that this story is *popular,* there may be some of you who came straight here, without even knowing I have another Sprace story up. It's called Coma. Go read it!!

This story nearly has 100 comments and nearly 75 votes and has over 1000 reads. Wow. Just wow. What the heck did this story do to deserve that?

I had a lot of fun writing this story. I'm so sad that it's over, but so happy that you all got to read it. I loved every minute. From April to today, I think this is exactly two months that it took me to write this story. Two months ago I wrote the first three parts. Two months after that I wrote the last three parts. It's its own symmetrical poetry, isn't it?

Today is June 18, 2021. Friday. 2:30 am. The time's going to inch by when I write more because I'm not done yet haha.

True, there are some things I wish I could have written about this story differently. That was nearly inevitable. There are some bits of plot that never got used, but didn't fit anyway. I'm ultimately satisfied with how this turned out, though.

WHAT THE HECK WHY DOES IT THINK I WANT TO PUBLISH THE PAGE IT KEEPS SAYING 'RESOLVE CONFLICT' I DIDN'T PRESS THE FREAKING BUTTON I GUESS I JUST NEED TO KEEP TYPING SO IT CAN'T ACCIDENTALLY PUBLISH THIS.

You can tell I'm on low sleep. My morning self is going to regret this, probably. Do I care? No. Not really. Anything I wanna change I can do later.

Anyway, I was gonna do some more story reflections.

Some of my favorite chapters to write//chapters I hold close: Race's Beginnings, Never Fear Brooklyn Is Here, King of New York, Irving Hall, Once And For All, We Won, Siamo Italiani, Learning, Sunset, Counting Days, Surprise!, Care For You, Raduno Di Famiglia, Our Happy Ending, and Race's New Beginnings. That doesn't mean I don't like other chapters. It's just that I loved writing those the most.

What do you all think? Do you want more Javid and/or Sprace and/or Blush stories from me? Would you be interested in reading any future Newsies stoy I post? What do you think of this one? Are you relieved or sad that this is ending?

I write for other fandoms too. I don't know when I'll post content for those. I have a Marvel story up at the moment, though, if that's what any of you are interested in.

One thing I could have done better was the title. Oh, and the cover's a tad bit off. Oh well. The title, though...I'm thinking about how much it actually fits for the story. I mean it works. I stress so, SO MUCH about titles. I either create really long ones, or really short ones, and either way, they're normally weird. This one's had a lot of different titles in my notes app, but the intent and storyline has always stayed the same.

I think this is the part where normally I say what the inspiration was to write the story. With my other two, it was kinda a one moment thing. For this one, it was a few different things. For one, I was inspired by other amazing  Sprace authors when I began my first hunt for fanfiction after discovering Newsies, and that it had a fandom. And I really liked the element of someone being kidnapped and there being a rescuer. But then I put my own twists on it. It wasn't just Race. It was Race and David. It's not just any kidnapper. It's the Delanceys. They want to ruin Spot and Jack and take over their turf. But it's not just them. There's a huge web. And the whole thing kept getting bigger and bigger, until David's fear of coming out and Race with his Italian identity became bigger parts of the story as well, things that I could at least semi-connect with, and the more the story grew, the more I hoped it would eventually end up on Wattpad. Which it did.

I just hope I put all storylines to rest and gave them the resolution they deserved.

Edit: I am back here a whole freaking year after I published this final page. Wow. Yeah, it was me running on 2:00 am brain power with a lot of spelling errors haha, but I don't think I'll change anything about it. I still can't believe this was a year ago. No, this story isn't perfect, but it was the first Newsies fanfiction idea I've ever had, so it holds a special place in my heart. As of today, June 18, 2022, (a year since Luca came out), I have 8 Newsies stories published here (wow!). And so, if you're here reading this edit, thank you, thank you so much for still reading this story of mine. <3

Edit: hey y'all, it's 1:30 am, two years after I posted this, and all I have to say is: life is a freaking trip. I am in a much different place than I was two years ago. I can't say I'm better now, but I have character development that 2021!me doesn't have. I can't believe it's been two years. Time never works the way you think it does. Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this story and/or any other I've wrote. Thank you to all y'all reading this new edit. You who find my stories and finish reading them long after they're published are the reasons why I keep writing. Love y'all <33
