if I die today
my blood making kaleidoscopic patterns on the sheer white snow,
just know,
this is the only color I see other than my tricolor
if I die today
my legs falling apart and my face pale as glue
don't forget my other shoe
have mercy on me as you box me up.
if I die today,
my clothes ripped and torn, do not worry
do not hurry
for I know I will be clothed in my flag
if I die today
I will die knowing that I am not one man, but 1.38 billion hopes
who like ropes,
are ties together like the rakhi around my wrists.
if I die today,
with the enemy's intentions entering my body in the form of a bullet
look at my bullate,
and it will tell you it's the closest anyone has been to my heart in days.
if I die today,
my feet stopping in their tracks, swollen and rock hard
talk to my guard,
and tell it that though I have let it down, it can't let my motherland.
if I die today,
don't cry don't weep, smile with a head held high, and talk to my mom
ask her to be calm,
tell her to be proud and not worry and know that I died in the arms of my mother
if I die today,
let the world know I'm not gone, my love for my country is not gone
just hold on,
I will be back to serve again.
