Scientists are often said to have lost their sanity to science
But along with his sanity, Galileo lost his pencil.
He hunted for it,
leaning against his beliefs like it was the tower of Pisa.
He hunted for it,
like it was paraffin in a thermoscope reaching out towards the bulb.
He hunted for it,
like it was his telescope looking for a star or a supernova
He hunted for it,
like tides on the sea looking out for the man wanting to drown.
He hunted for it,
everywhere but in his own hands.
You see, Scientists are often said to have lost their sanity to science.
