"You... shall... be... mine..."

"No... don't touch me..." I groaned.

"You can't escape from me, Delilah... you will be mine... We are meant to be... Your little friends can't save you now..." the voice continued, taunting me. The voice sounded like it belonged to a snake, a hungry snake that was about to eat you.

"River..."

"He's not here to save you this time..."

"Seth..."

"He'll do nothing but hurt you..."

"Rex..."

"He won't do you any good..."

"River..."

"There's..."

"River..."

"No..."

"River..."

"Use."

"River!"

I shot up from my bed as fast as I could, looking around my room quickly. I sighed, dropping back onto my pillow. It was only a dream. Had I been talking in my sleep like I had the time River came into the room? I really hoped that I wasn't. At least no one was inside to hear me shouting River's name. That would be uncomfortable and awkward on a whole new level and I wouldn't really want to talk about it.

I really hoped that no one heard me.

That would be so embarrasing that it's not even funny.

I couldn't even imagine the boys' remarks if they heard me shouting (maybe even moaning) River's name in my room... I don't even want to think about it.

I looked over to my right to see that my alarm was going to go off in only five minutes. So why not get a five minute head start and get up and get ready? I yawned, stretching as I sat up in my bed once again. The sun was cracking through my drapes, and it was annoying me ever so much.

I looked at myself in the mirror and wondered if I should do anything special with my hair. I decided not to, and I lazily straightened it, so that it looked normal, just like always. I applied my eyeliner and the rest of my makeup on quickly, and I was actually done a lot earlier than I usually was. Way more than just five minutes. I smiled to myself as I looked away from the clock. I could actually go get breakfast now.

I whistled to myself as I slung my backpack over my right shoulder, swinging my door open and stepping out so I could get to the cafeteria before homeroom for breakfast. I was really in the mood for a scone. I wondered if Mr. Ridgeway would let me eat in class. I was sure he would, it was only homeroom. We didn't do very much in that class, anyway.

I ran into someone the second I walked into the hallway, making me step back a little as I tried to not fall over onto my back. I looked up at the person to see it was River, and I couldn't help but blush a little. His hair was obviously damp as it hung over his eyes like it did normally. He must have taken a shower. For some reason I found that incredibly hot.

I felt my heart beat quickly as he looked down at me, and I couldn't help but think about how amazing he looked, and what an amazing friend he was. My heart skipped a few beats when I noticed that River and I had been staring at each other for a few moments in silence.

"Oh, hey, River. Do you want to go grab breakfast before heading to homeroom?" I asked, pulling my backpack onto my shoulder even more as I smiled brightly at him.

River only glanced at me before quickly looking away. "I'm actually heading out. I need to go buy some supplies for history. You know how Mr. Cavell gets when we don't have supplies. He goes pretty ballistic. I'll just see you in homeroom."
