The old alpha turned around and walked over to the other male,
a frown on his face.

"Have you found him?"

"No my king.
But-"

"Then I don't see a reason
why you're here.
We're running out of time,
when I'm gone it's the prince's
choice who's going to marry him."

Xiaoji only nodded,
he knew that it didn't look good.

Seungmin was gone without a trace,
he didn't even leave any scent marks the alpha could pick up and his friends also didn't go anywhere so
he could follow secretly.

Without the omega there wouldn't
be a marriage although Xiaoji hoped deeply that his plan from weeks ago had worked, also a way to force an omega into a marriage.

But no Seungmin meant no
wedding and in case the king died,
the omega would become the next king without another king or queen by his side.

This wasn't what the king had promised him, Xiaoji was meant to

Still they were running out of time also because the king was already very old and sick, his cancer already in a terminal state and the doctors were guessing that he wouldn't make it through the coming winter.

It was October already and the old man was looking and feeling worse and worse as the days went by.

Xiaoji really hoped that Seungmin would return shortly before or after the birth of Felix's and Chan's baby,
they were his niece or nephew after all and as far as the alpha could tell,
the brunette was close with his brother and brother in law.

"You should leave now,
you have a task to do and it's almost time for me to take my medicine"

the king spoke as he turned
away from the other alpha,
walking back to the big window where he had a perfect view of
the front yard of the mansion.

"Yes my king."

As Xiaoji walked down the street through the town, deep in thought on how he'd be able to find Seungmin,
he bumped into a small orange pup.

"Oh if that isn't one of the Han kids"

he smirked as he lifted the
little wolf up by her scruff,
a tiny growl escaping the pup followed by a small angry bark.

"Be quiet stupid kid,
who are you to growl at me?!"

The alpha put her down rather harshly, kicking her aside
as he laughed disgustingly at the
pup's painful cry and sad whimpering.

A deep growl made him shut up
but before he was actually able to turn around, someone had already jumped on him from the back
making him fall on the ground,
a groan escaping him.

Two hands were pressing on
his throat, choking him and he
tried his best to blink his blurry
vision away, his eyes meeting the piercing gaze of Jisung, the absolute anger flickering in his eyes.

"Is it funny to hurt and
scare little kids?!
Is it funny to throw and
kick them, huh?!"

He screamed,
tightening his grip as he
watched the other struggle
to breathe.

Xiaoji just made some
whimpering noises, pulling
on Jisung's wrists in hope to get
air again but the orange-haired
alpha was stronger.

"D-daddy"

Hana cried loudly the moment
she had shifted, curled up into a
small ball as she held her tummy,
sobbing loudly at the pain.

"Stay away from my family,
next time I'll kill you"

Jisung whispered in the other's
ear before losing his grip just to punch Xiaoji right in the face.

The other groaned loudly,
still trying to regain his breath as
he pressed his hand on his bleeding nose meanwhile the orange-haired alpha had picked his daughter up,
hugging her as close as possible.

She was crying so loud,
it was breaking her father's
heart and the only thing he
could do was stroking her head,
leaving as many kisses as possible
on every spot he reached and whispering words of comfort but
he knew that Hana wouldn't calm down completely as long as she was in such great pain.

Her small arms were wrapped
around her daddy's neck clinging onto him for dear life and Jisung threw Xiaoji one last disgusted look before making his way back home,
his heart bleeding knowing his baby was hurting so much.
